Request for Help on Smart object - Autimation issue

Hi Gurus am making players bio-data list to show up on a website .I made a shape using photoshop cs6 and on that shape i made another ellipse shape, used the player image and clip masked it and converted it to smart object. Users can double click the smart object and replace the image and save the psd as the image will be replaced.It sounds good so-far .But what am requesting from the gurus is , is there any other simple method for the users to replace the image? as you can not expect every one can able to use this method depending upon the skill levels.

Gurus please give me your expert thoughts on this as you people are experts.I also enclosed all the files including jpeg and the psd.Thanks in advance.

Hope you don't think you're being ignored, but I honestly do not know. I'm sure there's a way to do it but since I've never made this kind of thing I'm not familiar with it. You might have to use something like Adobe Acrobat Pro, which has a form filler?
 
thanks for the reply, but am confused what acrobat pro can do ? am not asking for the pdf thing am looking for photoshop psd help.
 
Hey Zoe, I took a look at your PSD file. Very nice work!

I may be misunderstanding what it is your wanting.

If this were being used on a website, any automation would be a function of the HTML/editor. In Photoshop you can define an area (with the Slice Tool) to be used as an action button. But if you want a click on the players face to open another image or file, this would be done in the HTML by linking.
 
Really thanks a lot for the prompt reply and help Iamsam. What i would like to know is , is there any simple method to replace the image for the users rather than the one i used smart object.Because its for a web site where they need to add new players image regularly and we can not expert them to be good at Photoshop . Any other simple method will be really appreciated.

Ok I am stepping in here I have no idea what your experience is in template design there is a big difference between mock ups and actual useable template.

If you are really going to be doing a website using photoshop you will need quite extensive knowledge of the program and how to translate it into an actual working website.

Based on what I can see this would actually look horrible as a hosted site, your images are to large and by the time you actually get to slicing the the document you and uploading it to the the server it will have so many breaks and gaps and will take forever to load as it is all purely image based.

As for User friendly it is far from it you should be aiming for layer comps and groups so people know exactly where to go to edit things.

like I said though to actually turn this into a working website will take experienced web designers and PS users so really if they cant work out smart objects then there is no chance they will be able to slice section and then recode it so it will be suitable for a website.

Photoshop is great for doing initial mockups and design plan and if used properly like illustrator can as well you can export layers etc to a decent web coding program which will use your groups and comps and be a far better starting off point.

greater planning needs to go into these if you want them to be responsive and compatable across all browsers and devices.
