Resizing This Image?

I am trying to resize this image without distorting the dog. The picture is 945x945 but I need to resize it to 850x315.

I have heard to try and use the Content Aware Scaling but I have had trouble with that. If anyone could help me try and resize this while not distorting the dog, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

You cant change an image from a square to a long rectangle without loosing proportion and causing distortion.

You will have to do an image resize select constrain proportions and make it 315 x 315
