I have drawn a few rectangles but want to make them all exaclty the same size and in certain positions.

how do you view/change the height, width, x and y positions? In fireworks, the properties pane at the bottom shows the exact measurements and is easy to change. How is this done in photoshop 7.

Strangely enough, are on the top...
Measurements are relative to the "Reference point location" (the nine dots that it shows on the righ), one of them is black - that one is the reference, if you want to measure from the top left corner you must select the top left one, by clicking on it. That's the position measure, the size of the object is by default in %, you can change this by right clicking the apropriate text box.
BTW, to get here you must be in "Free Transform mode", Press Ctrl + T.
