RQ:text effect

I would think you might try a style in the styles menu on the right side of your screen while in PS. Seems to me that was how it was done -- i could be wrong. [confused]

Here's a fairly quick attempt to replicate that effect. I started by rasterizing the type layer, locking the transparency temporarily while I first filled the layer with the darker color and then used a big soft brush with the light color, probably set to screen and about 25% transparency so the lighter area was built up. Once that was done the rest was done by experimenting in Layer Styles. The final style for the type had some Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow (but it was backwards, a light yellow and Screen blend mode), Bevel and emboss (with highlight and shadow colors changed from the default black and white) and a grey/white Pattern Overlay set to Overlay blend mode to get a bit of mottling.

Here's the result \:]
