Scanning in line art?

Hi Guys!
I've just taken delivery of Photoshop7.(Was using 5.5)
When I scan in a line drawing it appears on my desktop
inverted? I can go to Image>Adjustments>Invert, but
this then leaves a thick black line on one of the side
of the image.
Why don't I just get the line drawing as I do in 5.5?

Looking forward to hearing any solutions and thanks
in anticipation.
Best wishes,
Richard

Hmmm.... I'm scratching my head Richie D 'cause that sounds crazy...[confused]
Can't help you as I've never encountered the problem, myself. :\

Stick around... there may be somebody here who has encountered that very problem and can address it for you. :)

Tx G-Man.:) It was time to change the snowglobe contents...

Your scanning it in? couldn't you just flip the page when you scan it?

My first guess is that something may be wrong with your scanner software. It may have gotten corrupted when you uninstalled 5.5 (?) and installed 7.

Try a new install.
Before doing that, you may want to check in your scannersoft that you or anyone else hasn't set to invert in the first place...

If not: what's your specs? mac, pc, which os, which scanner, twain or plugin,...?

I think Rick may have something here. I once purposely set the scanner to invert, for one picture. For some reason, it kept the setting (it isn't supposed to, but "stuff" happens with software, as we all know). Check your settings; it may be as simple as that.
