separating colors for t shirt

So, I don't do this very often, but I need help with separating colors for a t shirt. I have a buddy who prints shirts and he sent me a full color logo in a jpg form and asked me if I can separate the colors and convert to a tiff file for screen printing. Is there an easy way of doing this in photoshop? I've only done this when the designs are black and white.

This is what he sent me. I think I found a way using the magic wand tool, but it's kind of messy. I don't think the image is high enough quality to get clean selections.

Using the Pen Tool would be the best way to get clean lines.

Okay, I wasn't sure if there was an easier method. The pen tool is a little time consuming for me lol
