Burned the oil. Burned a candle at both ends and even a little bit in the middle.

If you have my old ones, please delete them.
As a favor to me and my idiocy.

Extract plug-ins to your plug-in directory.
Will be Filter > Tech Slop.

All are beta 1 and have no real error checking just yet.
Meant for RGB mode, so no guarantees if non-RGB mode.

The actual files have the prefix "TS_".

Plug-in Revamp

Windows XP
PS 7
Should work for your flavor of Win and/or PS.

Extract plug-ins to your plug-in directory.
Will be Filter > Tech Slop.

TS_plugins ~560k

Additive Wrap-Around
Add or substract a given amount from 0 - 255.
Will wrap values that are out of bounds.
Meant as a compliment to Extract Hue.
There are more uses for this, but they escape me right now.
Long story.

Extract Hue
Extracts hue either to colour or greyscale.
When sat=0% for a given pixel, will fill with an easily identifiable alternative.

Extract Luminosity
Extracts Photoshop's flavor of Luminosity.
Extracting Lum with stock tools is easy enough, but what the hell.
Uses 30%, 59%, and 11%.

Extract Saturation
Extracts Photoshop's flavor of saturation.
Options to pick which RGB channels to toss it into.

Min Max Shop
Mostly for my own detective work.
The only practical use I've found for this so far is High Pass Mask Blurring.

Normalize Min Max
Hit ctrl+l and check the histogram before and after to see what this does.
Preserves Hue and Sat.
Options to normalize to 0, 128, and 255.

Opacity Pump
Too many funny people out there that don't know how to use a Layer Mask.
Or maybe you just made a silly mistake.
Partially transparent pixels?
Opacity Pump to the rescue!
Takes the sting out of having to use the long-winded, stock tool method.
Hopefully you'll never have to use it.

Docs and tuts to come.
For now, it's time to sleep.

Thanks, guys.

Opacity Pump
I have to fix this one a little bit. If (A=00), it will fill with a pixel using a default colour. This is a PS thing that I didn't know about. Needs to be more like:
if {A!=0){A=255;}
That way it will leave completely transparent pixels alone.

In one test, I set the Eraser to 70% and did like 4 strokes with it. Oddly enough, that wasn't enough to completely erase and Opacity Pump worked dandy.

I had Pierre in mind when I did this one.

Quickie:
Copy photo
Extract Hue to greyscale
Clip a Ad-Layer > Grad Map and use the Spectrum preset.
*Might have to reverse the direction of the GMap.
Set the Hue Greyscale layer to Hue.
Between the Hue Grey layer and the GMap, add a Curves Ad-Layer.

--Gradient Map using Spectrum preset
--Curves to tweak
Hue in Greyscale set to Hue

Using the Curves Ad-Layer, you can manipulate Hue in ways otherwise not possible with stock tools (well, maybe could be done with stock tools - but not without an awlful lot of hassle).
Maybe even put the Curves in Arbitrary mode and get crazy with the Cheese Whiz.

Hopefully this weekend I'll have the strength to go on a proper rampage. You know, how these work, some practical uses, and maybe even some crazy experiments. So much to write and so little time.

"I had Pierre in mind when I did this one."
I hope that it is not a bad thing... ;)

D/L right now...

What are you guys talking about?

Talking about... filters...?

Spec was my inspiration for Opacity Pump because he's such an advocate of the long-winded, stock tool method.
Clone tool and all that.
I've always wanted Opacity Pump, but probably would have forgetten to write it if it hadn't been for Pierre.
It's a good thing.

OK Stroker OK OK Believe or not, I know this is Filter Talk 8} but are you making filters or what? If you are making them, are they actions or is there another way to make filter applications? ;\ I know one can write effects in some filters but sounds like you are writing filters, huh? or plug-ins huh?-- give a dummy a break and explain what the heck you are doing -- in very simple terms please :P
Mucho thanks
Joy

Whoops. Sorry, Joy.
I'm making my own filters/plug-ins with Filter Meister.
So far just simple plug-ins that I find tremenduous useful (it's my flow).
As I get to know things, I'll be writing more complex ones.

Welles, Opacity Pump is the only real name that came to mind. From the phrase 'pump up the opacity'.
A few other names did come to mind, but nothing entirely useable.
Save My Transparent Butt...?
Opacify...?

If I ever have a hard time coming up with a name for a plug, I'll let ya'll have a whack at it.

Ahaaa thanks Stroker - appreciate your fast response. Ok I'm with you now, I dl beta 4 and will be trying to catch up with you guys. Will read the site soon.

I love this idea of making plug-ins :} 8D thanks mucho

Very happy now
Joy
