I was first time to design the catalogue cover, so pls give me the comment and marks [if full marks is 100point].

thank you!!!!!!

Hey-not bad!! :}
Constructive comments:
1) The logos and text on the bottom seem a little disorganized-especially the Catalogue 2005-maybe center it all? Or run Catalogue 2005 up the side?
2) Love the text in the background, but unfortunately you can't read some of it since it's covered up! Especially that last one with just the "M" showing...maybe those words can be repeated in small text running underneath the logo at the top or across the bottom. The question here is whether the words are important or not. If the catalog goes to people unfamiliar with the company then they are important (else how do they know what's in the catalog?), but if it's going to people who are requesting it and are already famliar with the product line-then having it as a strictly graphic element is probably OK.
Things I Like:
1) The logos and photos pop really nice out of the background-nice and bright.
2) Nice gradient color-I like the touch of red in the middle area, it gives it a nice little extra oomph.
3) The duotone-like main photo. I have no idea what that is (not being a car parts kind of guy)-but the effect is great. You have a nice, prominent photo but it doesn't detract at all from the logos. A nice design solution!
Did you do just the cover or did you get to tackle the insides as well?

Nice to see your new project, ciwecom2003. I like it with just two reservations. It seems to me that Catalog 2005 has too prominent a place for it's importance and using two lines makes it visually broken up for no apparent reason. My second is just a personal aesthetic when it comes to effects. I'd like to see the bevel and emboss highlight on the Kroozin logo a bit smaller and the outer glow a bit more transparent.

Overall? Very nice job!!! :} :} :}

Overall, it's very good. I certainly agree that the text at the bottom needs proper alignment, and sizing. I know you were stuck with the logo, as is.

You should have enetered it in the W1K contest, to see how it stacked up against the other entries. :D

The are quite a few things I would personally improve, but things that bother me most;

- I don't like the bevel. Look at catalogues, magazines, labels on bottles, cartons, etc and you'll notice that designers seldom use beveled text or objects. Why? In most cases because it adds a new style to the design and too many styles in one design are a no-no. Also many people who just got interested in design use bevels and it tends to give a design the label "amateur at work". Use bevels only when it really adds something to the design, not just because it looks "way cool!". Same story for using "glow".

- Global design is not dynamic enough, also too centered and the background color doesn't suite the text and images. Try to keep styles and colors within limits.

In general the best designs are the ones in which things are kept simple.
Some designers however can't move away from being artist, but being an artist or designer are two different things.

I agree with the "glow" portion of your statement! Seems out of place for it!

However, I am 50/50 with the "bevel" portion! Here, I think it makes a statement rather than "labeling" it as "newbie" artwork. BUT the other side of that can be true too!

Just my humble opinion!

Otherwise it looks nice! :righton:

I really really like it.

How about center aligning the 'Catalogue 2005' and putting it in the middle of the circle thing in the middle. That's the only suggestion I might have.

It's really great :righton:
