Warp Tool - malfunction

When I select the warp tool, the grid appears on the image as normal, however when I click on the image to start deforming it, it inverts vertically automatically. What can I do to prevent this from happening? Thanks.

Saying that it inverts vertically makes no sense. You need to either explain in detail what this means, or post a screen shot!

How are you getting into "warp tool"??? Please describe step by step what you are doing!

Resetting Ps prefs should clear it up.
