I've recently designed my first web site and I'm trying to get it up and running. I have the home page up and I have a few questions that I'm sure someone can shed some light on for me.

Here is the link: http://www.geocities.com/thedubyas/index.html

...and here are the questions:
1) Can someone tell me why that annoying javascript error box pops up whenever the page loads?

2) What can I do to make the background stretch to the right edge and bottom of the page?

3) Is there a way to make an invisible frame where the right menu bar doesn't have to reload every time you go to a different page? I have a feeling this might end up being pretty complicated, but I'm open to advice.

I constructed the page in PS and "webbified" it in ImageReady. I saved it as HTML and images, then uploaded the images and copied the HTML code into the geocities editor.

I appreciate any comments/advice you have.

Hi Duyba, Nice, friendly site. Pleasant colors. Very inviting. I like it! You did good. ;) I noticed you didn't slice it and it still loaded fast. I only had one problem, I couldn't get the links to work. Its always hard on Geocitie's Site. Be sure your absolute address is correct. And you are pointing to the right file and the file is loaded in the right place :D he he he just check everything :D :D :D

The JS sign pops up because you have an error there somewhere. JS Errors are hard to find even using a checker. :(|

I would make the background art larger in PS to increase the size of the background. Usually you increase the table width and height. See in your source code: TABLE WIDTH=760 add table height: TABLE HEIGHT=550 (or whatever size) but manually increasing at this point, could distort your photo if they are in the same table. :(|

to stop that popup to must get a better host. :) Just search on google.. and choose the webhost right for u..:) there are alot of free ones that have no banners or ads ;)

I have to agree with real .... Geocities is almost as bad as Homestead, or AngelFire. In this case you get what you pay for (which is nothing).

If you're serious about your website then I suggest finding a dedicated host. I had Homestead for a long time, and I can vouch personally that it sucks big time. When I found a host and moved onto the big WWW it was like a dream come true ... I could finally write my own code and do all the things I'd always wanted with my pages.

maybe i suggest a really good host www.eukhost.com very cheap but real nice value for money. :righton:

That is indeed possible. I try to avoid frames (for several reasons).
I used frames in the past, but for something like this I would use tables and throw the menu in a cel and use a javascript menu that's small in physical size. Templates are great; they make life much easier.
