who is friends with the offset filter?

hi, i am new here and taught myself photoshop which is probably why i dont understand it half the time...i am trying to generate a pattern tile using the offset filter but my edges dont match up....they seem to be fine top and bottom but left and right dont work. here is my design - hopefully someone can tell me what i'm doing wrong...i hope it's not too obvious cos then i would feel pretty stupid

That's the issue when creating patterns whit the offset filter. most of the time the edges never stay aligned, but why use the offset filter if you can create manually your custom pattern by using layers and free transform, and going to Edit>define pattern.

Or you can generate your pattern using the offset filter and grab seamless section whit the selection tool or crop tool and define it as custom pattern as well.
