Looking for a Paper Slit Tutorial

I've seen this before in a PS file but didn't pay enough attention at the time. Now I can't find a tutorial on it, or any random file with it on so I can check how it's made myself. I'd like to make the paper slit.

I originally thought it was a shape placed over 1 large shadow, to look like 2 slits. But from what I can remember from seeing this before is, both shadows are independent of each other, and no shape between.

Can someone point me in the right direction please.

Good luck with your project. I'm sure there are more and I think I may even have seen this exact image posted before but I can't find it. There's plenty of expalanations from Inkz, IamSam, and Remote-Medic to help you along. I don't think you'll need to look further!

Thanks. Exactly what I was looking for. I actually thought about doing it how IamSam explains in the link, but then didn't trust my own judgement. I should have tried before asking. *facepalm*
