Blinking Screen problem. Turn off graphics accelerator to solve?

When I am editing an image in photoshop and lightroom I occasionally get a blinking screen when moving the mouse. I read that a possible remedy to this would be turning off the graphics accelerator. I also have the Nik editing collection installed as a plug in. Will this contribute to the problem? Any thoughts appreciated. I am running a iMac on OS 10.14 Mojave with 8gb ram.

This is possible and therefor you could try to untick 'use graphics processor' in preferences on both apps.

If you have a GeForce chipset with the GeForce Experience software installed - disable or uninstall it (the experience, not the driver).
