At first glance I thought it might be a metal texture, but it could also be an altered paper texture.

Did you check the HTML of the website to see if it showed the texture? There are sometimes even names of the textures listed.

Do you have a link to the original website where you viewed this texture?

Hi Sorry for the delayed reply as i just come from my office.BTW IamSam i found it from part of a jpg layout

Just to let you know, I haven't forgot about your inquiry.

I just haven't quite figured it out yet.

This is a version made with brushed metal.
Not there yet.

Sure.........but I don't think it's a match. It's only similar.

I found a dark brushed metal texture. I named it Brushed Metal 1

I duplicated the layer using Cmd/Cntrl + J. I named it Brushed Metal 2
I then entered Free Transform (Cmd/Cntrl + T) and rotated the layer to about 45 degrees.
I also enlarged it a little by holding down Shift + Option/Alt + grabbing one the transform boxes corner points and dragging.

On the Brushed Metal 2 layer, I set the blending mode to OVERLAY and lowered the opacity to 75%.

I added a Curves adjustment layer to lighten the image.
I then created a new layer which I named the Brush Tool Layer.
I then selected my Brush Tool.
I lowered the flow setting of the Brush Tool and created the dark bands.

That's about it.
