When I create a new document in Illustrator [cs5] The size onsceen @300dpi
fills the screen @say100%..... Now heres the problem, when I bring this file
into photoshop It fills the screen @ like 54%, [same dpi settings]. Anybody have
a idea?

Well Jenny...seems we're all alone here in our little chat box, maybe we should try to figure out your problem. Oh yes, Jen, that does sound fun...Well it seems your file is a bitmap and illustrator is vector based...Oh I see where you are going with this, the vecter is resolution independent! Jenny you are so smart and cute. (kiss, kiss,) Let's go get a pizza and afterwards run some tests to make sure that was the problem....black olives on mine please!

Size issues -

For a second I thought this was going to be spam for Viagra. Now I understand why you were asking me about size issues in my INVADER ZIM thread.

I never really noticed a difference, but I also never tried to import an image in an identically-sized document. I shall have to test your theory (both of your theory, sorry!)

Have you posted any art yet? Hook us up! Let me know if you enjoyed the pizza, and which one of you paid for it.

Not sure where Oz is, But I live in the upper midwest [US], ...Uploading my project is probibly not such a good idea [copyright issues]...
But the good news is I"ve come here to learn Illustrator, and work on something fun... and hope to upload that.

Surely if you are using Illustrator first, then transferring into photoshop, it would not matter what size it was, as it would be a smart vector file.
It will be the same quality whether you have to make it bigger, smaller, or keep it the same size.

I'm not very pro in illustrator but i don't think resolution works in it same way as in PS.

Yes, in Raster efect options you can set some digits for resolution but as i understand it works for generating for filter (smoother or not) but whole image in Illustrator still have no resolution before you export it to some choosen format and size. That's first what cames in mind.
Here is info for it (CS4 but in CS5 it same): Adobe Illustrator CS4 * Rasterization options

Second one is that workspace size in both programs can differ which can geve your result.

And third i don't think view procentage is important for image. It's just shows how much programm zoomed in picture (how it show) but not actual change or do anything to picture itself.

But whole image in AI still have no resolution before I export it..... This is where I"m getting confused, I want to make smaller before I export it, Shrink it
as a whole image, not just crop it....Perhaps export then shrink, then raster layer?..... , Jenny just wants to cry..... Thank you for helping BTW

This may be the problem.... It seems Ive been click/drag AI into PS, It appears to change it to some kind linked layer.... Hmmmm, This does warrent
further investigation.

There are 2 ways I bring Ai into Ps. One is to draw something in Ai, then simply, close out, and open the Ai file in Photoshop. It automatically rasterizes the image.
The other is to copy something in Ai, and paste it into Ps, choosing the vector smart object option. When I do this, it copies with a bounding box, which allows me to resize as needed.

: )

Size is not a issue today.... Now It"s working!! [Jenny say"s Thank you, to everyone involved].
