Get ready, this is lengthy!!

Hey guys,

First time on any photoshop forum and this is because i am in great need of peoples skills and knowledge. Im currently doing a Body of Work for Art (Im in Year 12 the last year. So yeah this artwork is major and makes up half my mark of the year in Art).

My idea is to use a photo of me (17 year guy) and a photo i took of a tiger and put the tigers face on mine. Now it truly is as simple as it sounds. Im just using masks to colour in the tigers face on mine and hey pronto! ive done my major in a day!!!! This idea though good concept wise (Concept: Though we call ourselves humans, we still have animilistic emotions. Eg. rage of a tiger) is lacking in spectacle and, well, flash. I need this to be amazing!!

As i said i have just been using masks and so far though it looks good its too dam simple. The way im giong to set this up is to have 3 photos of me: 1 slightly sad, 2 angry, 3 enraged. The first will have a bit of the tigers skin, the second more and the third my face will be covered in tiger face (sounds hilarious dont it?)

This is kindve a practice so you guys can see the direction im going in:

So yeah, basically im just asking if u guys have any ideas, tutorials or tips that i can use to make this artwork great! Anything that could be of any use!!!

Much <3 and appreciation

Continue with the procedure you used.

the trick is to warp the key features of the tiger to match your human emotion contours. Heatures like whiskers, snarl nose flare, eye folds, maybe adding in the tiger's teeth...

dv8 thnx for replying!
thats actually a great idea!! Ill definetly add as much emotion to my face as i can in the pics.
Pity about the teeth though because the tiger wasnt snarling and i cant use other peoples photos "/
i do however have photos of crocidiles so i may try to use that!

thanks a bunch bro!

yeah the idea is to have the tiger as a mask on me (sorta like its taking over me) also if u look at the image of the tiger ull realise its got crrappy resolution making it harder to get the finer points of the fur. Itll just be blurry! (correct me if im wrong - im new at photoshop! great time to start huh?)

Paul nice bro!! wish i had them skillz

its easier if you add your face to the tiger instead of adding the tiger to your face.
and yes i meant "Fur"

You can use those images. But select a matching human profile view so it will match the animal's and make the merging proportional and seamless . Paul's one is a good match in angle. Had it been of a a more degrees off in any direction, it would have been distorted....

As for the teeth you can take the fangs amd superimpose them just under your lips, adding a bit of shadow at the top under the lips and maybe the sides depending on the light source and blurring the teeth edges to match the surrounding ...

dataflow thats not the point of the work though. I want the tiger to be on me not the other way around and trust me i tried it a while back and its quite strange looking!

dv8 yeah problem is i can only use my photos :( and im not really bothered going back to the zoo too try my luck again with the tiger. I suppose i can change the profile of me. Well see how that works

thnx guys for replying. means alot!

Use your photos, yes... but if you want to add more detail, spare parts from other photos will come in handy.... teeth, Nose and bridge, a tuff of fur.... anything to make the image more convincing and full....

Like in your face image... add in the surrounding face fur of the original tiger you used and play with the opacity and layer modes or add more layer copies in different layer modes to blend in the look you need. you may need to mask out the areas in the background layer behind the fur.....

IM BACK

hey guys, ive come a long way since the last time. The idea is still the same with having 3 scenarios.
1. Just a bit of the tiger on my face (to symbolise the gradual takeover of animilistic emotions)
2-3: More of the tigers face

So yeah ive started No 1. and this is what it looks like so far:

Scenario 1.jpg

Im actually really happy with it but it still seems to simple. I suppose in a sense it is meant to be seeing as it is the first scenario. No 3 i will use this tutorial which will hopefuly make it look great as my whole face will be covered in tiger :D

Tutorial: http://psd.fanextra.com/tutorials/photo-effects/create-a-stylish-two-tone-photo-montage/

Yet it really only took me about 1.5 hours of solid work to create.

Do u guys have any ideas as to what i can incorporate to make this even greater??

Much <3
