How to create the 'never ending stairs effect' but with overlapping photos.

Hi guys,

I am trying to create a circular interface of roughly 12 evenly spaced square photographs, each photo will overlap with the next on one edge, therefore creating effect to the 'never ending stairs' shown below. I want my interface to look flat, just with each photo slightly rotated, allowing photos to constantly overlap with the next.

Any help will be appreciated.

this type of illusion doesnt work in a circle

ofcourse, you can just make it like you can place cards in a circle, and slide the last one underneith the first one

Thanks for your reply, how you just described with the cards in a circle is exactly what I am after, but have trouble doing it in Photoshop, as each time i overlap a photo they are getting higher and higher, so when I try to complete the circle the last layer is a much higher than the first, as opposed to being slid under and connected.

What you'll need to do is split the last 'card' into two separate layers. The first one being at the very bottom and the other at the top. Just make sure that you have the layer in position first before duplicating and then erase the necessary part of the top layer to reveal the bottom. I hope that's clear enough for you.

or just, ctrl+left click the first card in the layer panel
that way you get a selection of the outline of that card.
now erase that selection from the last card, so the first card will look on top
