Can someone fill my sun with the proper color (red -- seen thru smoke)?

Well, your sun lacks any color at all, so you would end up just painting the red in there anyway. I would copy the sun you like from the other picture and paste it over top of the white sun in your pic, lol.

    moving layers

My only guess is that you have "Auto Select Layer" checked in the arrow toolbar and you weren't clicking on any pixels in the top layer. You may have been auto selecting the lower layer. If you uncheck that option, it won't matter what you do, you will always move the layer that is currently...

    Challenge 13 ||\/||EGA ||\/||ash (universal edition)

Lol, I know what a spork is (even if Chrome's spell check doesn't), but I've never heard them referred to as a "splade." That makes no sense at all. I will continue calling them sporks :P

    Modifying text

Those faux options are always so "weak" though :/ And isn't underline always CTRL+SHIFT+U regardless of the font family?

    Modifying text

Are you using Photoshop? I'm not understanding where you are seeing these grayed out options. If a font has a bold version or italic version, it exists in a dropdown menu next to the font. If the font doesn't have an italic version, it doesn't exist in the list; not a grayed out option.... If...

    Restoration of a rusty Truck

Certainly glossy and reflective, but it looks like the body of the truck changed a bit ;) Best effort in the thread so far :)

    The blonde one sneaking in!

Get VERY comfortable using the pen tool ;) Click and hold to drag out your vector direction; click and hold again to create a path segment and drag out your next vector direction; repeat, repeat, repeat. The fewer clicks, the more easily you can edit it when you're done. To edit, use the white...

    Restoration of a rusty Truck

No matter how hard and crisp you get the light reflections, you will always be missing the darker reflections found on the lower half of the car (the reflections of the surrounding area up to the horizon). I would find a good picture of a shiny truck that sits at a similar angle, tweak the...

    Recoloring Question.

Drop all of your blond hair images into one file as separate layers. Add a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer above them (Layer>New Adjustment Layer>Hue/Saturation). Move the Saturation slider all the way to zero to turn all of your hair layers grayscale. Add a Levels adjustment layer above that...

backlit photo effect - please help

You will not be able to pull off that effect with that image. The highlights are all coming from a light source behind the photographer, creating shadows where you would need highlights. Like you said, the lighting and intention needs to be there from the outset, or you will end up hand painting...

    A few retouches

Those look good :) Have you tried playing with Curves instead of levels? On the last image, I think it would help if her hand matched the rest of her skin tone ;)

    Please some help :D

Will this be good enough? I'm not a professional, but I did my best ;) The colors look muted on this preview, but if you click on it, you'll get the full effect...
