    When i view a jpg in the windows pic viewer or internet explorer they look exactly the same. But in PS7 it looks very different as you can see in the pic below. the one on the left is how it looks in IE or windows pic viewer and on the right is how it looks in PS.     Nevermind.....found it. However, when i record it stops at each resize screen and i have to click "ok". Is that normal? I was hoping i could just start it and let it go.

    I had an action, at least i believe thats what it was, which would allow me to batch resize a folder full of jpgs with a click or 2. But long ago i had to reformat and lost it and can't remember where i got it or if i made it. I've forgotten anything i knew about it by now and was hoping...

    Thanks, but i just tried messing with a layer mask for the first time and couldn't figure out how to do it with that. Still have to make the mask do what i'm trying to do to the pic.

    Let me clarify, as i may not have been too clear. I selected a round portion of another picture, then dragged it onto a white canvas and saved it as a JPG. so now i can put a selection line around the round the picture by using the slection tool and just clicking in the white part of the canvas...

    I have a picture thats round and the canvas is white. I want the white of the canvas to gradually blend into the picture about 10 pixels deep. I tried selecting the canvas and stroking with various amounts of opacity and various modes with no success. How can i do this ! Thanks in advance.

    Is there a pic viewer like XP's for 98?

    Thanks, but she won't even spend the $ to get XP home, so getting her to pay $30 for an image viewer would be impossible. But i think i just found a free on that will be easy enough for her and allows to view the folders contents in full screen (no bars of any type..true full screen) and scroll...

    pencil too and straight lines

    Yes, i've used the pen tool a tiny bit, but Erik nailed it with the idea of doing it with the pencil as i was but DRAGGING it instead of clicking the destination I knew there had to be a way. I should have known to try dragging! Works perfect....thanks much.

    It's really simple, but hard to explain i guess. In any case, i was hoping there was a way to do the click and shift thing, but to have the line never deviate from straight up and down or totally level. So for example... 1)click anywhere 2)click again some distance to the right holding shift...

    I often use the pencil tool to make straight lines from one point to another by clicking at the start point then clicking at the destination point while holding shift. However, you have to guess at where to do the destination click or the line isn't straight. Is there a way to make it always...
