    I've heard that when making a photograph smaller in Photoshop the results are better if it's done in steps instead of all at once. If this is true how much should it be reduced each time and should the change in pixels per inch be done before reducing the image My camera saves at 300 ppi at...

    Selection

    You can make your outer selection then hold the ALT key while making the inner selection qnd the area between the two wil be selected.

    Mega pixels for Digital Cameras

    My first digital camera (Olympus E-10) had 4 megapixels and I got excellent 8x10's from it. It used AA batteries and I used the nickel metal hydride rechargables and got over 200 shots per charge. These are not very expensive. I got a charger and 4 batteries for $10. I have seen prints made...

    black and white but with coloured areas

    One way is to desaturate to remove the color then use the history brush to paint the color back into the areas where you want it.

    dpi or ppi

    A friend who uses a Canon said his camera produces 72 dpi, you can change it in Photoshop to whatever you need My Nikon produces 300 dpi and the Oylmpus I had before it gives 144 dpi.

    My never-ending quest - cross-processing techniques

    What I remember about the history of cross processing is that back when color negative film was limited in speed (film speed was rated as ASA then, now it's called ISO) you could use transparency film (slide film) rated at much higher than it's normal speed and process it like color negative...
