    Sizing/Resolution questions.

Hey guys, I'm not a newbie, but after this post, you'll think I am =) I have a problem! I originally began doing some digital paintings thinking they'd only be displayed on the web, so I kept it at the default resolution of 72. After doing 11 or 12 paintings now, and forgetting to change the...

    Need texture help/ advice

haha yah I guess sometimes there's only one way to do it, and that's just try a bunch of stuff and see what works. I've done hours of trial-and-error on other pictures before I really felt like I got what I was going for, so I guess this is no different.

    Need texture help/ advice

Hey guys, thanks for you input. Yah I had thought of using the skin texture brushes, but so far there's something about it that doesn't look right. I'm having trouble making sense of what I'm seeing, especially in the mid/upper muzzle, so it's hard to recreate it. I'll start again and just try...

    Need texture help/ advice

Hey everyone, I've been working on this digital painting of a tiger, recently and it's going quite well except one thing: the texturing on his muzzle is very complex and I can't figure out how to approach it. Here is a close-up of the part I'm referring to (the actual photo). If anyone can give...

Nagel Brush Series - anyone have a list of names?

Thanks for the list, GPS. I use one of the brush sets for my skin textures and it's awesome. So I'm going to get some of the other sets, too. Nice to have this list for reference =) Happy drawing!

    Drawing skin wrinkles

haha good one, Mike =). Believe me, I wish I could "photoshop" myself in real life, too!

    Drawing skin wrinkles

Hey Fatboy, It's funny you post that, because I've recently "rediscovered" the dodge and burn tools, and have been using them with great success. I'll give them a try for the wrinkles. I've recently used them for hair/fur and one of the spatter brushes, and it works like a charm. Wish me luck...

    Drawing skin wrinkles

haha well I probably won't make any more attempts tonight, since I'm done drawing for the day, but I'll start first thing tomorrow and hopefully get it right. I'll let you guys know what happens, either way =)

    Drawing skin wrinkles

Hey Paul, well at the moment I've erased every attempt I've made, so I'll have to make a new one, then maybe post it =). However, you have gotten me thinking that I could try drawing the wrinkles on another layer, then try the blending modes to help blend it in. I'll give that a try. Thanks for...

    Drawing skin wrinkles

Hey Paul, Well the problem is with the rendering. I can physically put the wrinkles on the drawing, but not sure how to blend/smudge/render them to look right. So your idea wouldn't really help me with that part of it. Does that make sense?

    Drawing skin wrinkles

Hey Paul, thanks for the link. I never thought of trying to do wrinkles like that, but I could give it a shot. I'd still like to be able to draw them, normally, so I have more control over the process, but using textures and blending them in is something I'll keep in mind. =)

    Drawing skin wrinkles

Hey everyone, I've been working on a photo-realistic picture lately, but I can't seem to get the wrinkles in the guy's skin to look right. I'm finding very little info out there on how to do it. Is there any specific procedure for doing it, or is it just a trial-and-error kind of thing? Any...

    Fill layer/ perspective question

Hey all, I'm running into a little problem with the fill layer option and wanted to pick your brains. I'm putting a brick pattern onto a house background I'm working on. I know how to select the parts I need, create the pattern fill layer, scale the brick size, and all that. However, I'm needing...

    Newbie painting/fill questions

Hey Costisefu, Yah I noticed that it wouldn't accumulate as long as I didn't lift up my pen/mouse, but there are times when I'd forget or whatever, so I was just thinking it would be nice to remedy it. But no biggy I guess =) Thanks again --Jason

    Newbie painting/fill questions

Hey guys, First off, thanks for the assistance. Yah, even if I lower the opacity but keep flow 100% it continues to accumulate and build up the color. I didn't even think of setting the opacity of the color layer itself =P That was too easy. And I can always put the other colors on a different...
