    Re: I fail to integrate a layer into a background image (color tone, light, etc.). He You can sometimes cheat the eye by reducing contrast in both images until they match, merging them, and then increasing the contrast again. Wouldn't advise it as a goto solution though.

    The easiest way to achieve this effect would be a lighting effect as opposed to a gradient. although it is entirely possible to get a gradient to do this as well. For the gradient version, you can select from the gradients via the selection box at the top :) Hope this helps =)
