    Old PSD layers (large files) not compatible with photoshop CC

    side note.. you can often open Photoshop files, even if you dont own a working version of photoshop, but drag & drop onto iPhotos or apple Photos... it will open as a single layer image (and may or may not have any effects), but it will give you access to images in a hurry. Sandy

    the original file is 1.7 Gig... but if i watermark it (after all I put hours into retouchig it) it could chaneg the file size dramaticaly.. I have since opened and closed it and even done very small spot retouched to see ifthat may clear up the file, but to no efect. it staill says 1.7 gig on...

    photoshop often confounds me. and occasionaly i get a large difference w=between the image size when it is open and the file size when it is closed.. 713.7 meg open, and 1.7 gig when closed. No layers at all, no links etc.. just one large flatened image. mostly my files when open or closed...

    Hi, both, but in tis case the single color was screened for its haltones. More is more common in color processes when the different screen are et a various angles. acccoring to the colours. newspapers (monotone) are screened to create half tones. regards, Sandy

    did you have a photoshop crash.? I have found mine will after a crash, forget some of the Keyboard shortcuts. so after I have a crash, very rare now in @022, I reset my tools. (It wont forget many other presets like Swatches etc as they are alreday saved as an external item) but workspaces...

    have you tried going to Transform then select Rotate. if that is no working either, then just reset all tool options.

    photoshop images window often disappear under tools pallets and windows columns.

    thank you will try. in Photoshop CS6 that was a seperate window that th image window fitted inside. can't find where that is in Phtosho 2022. regards, Sandy
