    I missed a step at the start. When I did what you told me to do, I did not end up with the checkerboard pattern to start with. What step did I miss? When I cropped, it just cropped it without the checkerboard pattern on both sides of the crop.

    I really like the results when I use the Photo Grid app and it takes the image and makes a duplicate layer and then blurs that layer for the background of it. How would you do this in Photoshop and how would you also bevel the edges of the sharp photo, where it is smoother? Thanks!

    I finally upgraded to Photoshop 2017 and am not happy about the healing brush. Is there any way to go "back" to the old healing brush? I googled it, but on the Adobe site it mentions Photoshop 2015. Is there a work around for 2017? I just really don't like any options given for the new...

    Here is what happened when I turned on the bottom layer and then adjusted the opacity on Plane Copy Layer 3. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for your help with this. Just trying to get better.

    From what another Photoshop Guru had me do, on my original thread, he gave me specific steps to take and this is a screen shot of what I did today. I am not 100% sure, but I think all my work is on separate layers. Any help to get better at all of this would be greatly appreciated.

    I'm not a Photoshop whiz, by any mean, so I don't know which layer to adjust the opacity and when I tried to do it, (lowering the opacity) on a certain layer, I started getting the "checker-board" pattern.

    Thank you! I'm getting more and more comfortable with them and now know some of the steps, by memory, yet I'm still not at the other guy's level......his just look better. Possibly not as much blur??? I like what you've taught me, just need to "tweak" it.

    Yes! That was a "point and shoot" shot on the ramp at Miami International Airport a few years ago and I had a retouching service work on it.......the pilot (who isn't a photographer or photoshop whiz) LOVED it, so that is what matters to me on this one. :) Here's another new one.
