    Like psrick said soften the mask on the horse, give the horse more saturation. I’d also use the torsion or perspective effect to align the butterfly with the horse. Also maybe cast a shadow. And I get the effect but maybe the butterfly is a little too big.

    Before using it, black and dark grays would look the same when I printed, especially when you have a high quality screen computer. So I do use it, when I want the colors to be as I expect. Pretty sure it's not a gimmick.
