    Sizing an image for printing

I will experiment at 260 and 280 resolution but as you say it means nothing on a PC screen. In reality, nobody is going to go nose-to-nose with a print in a frame in someone's living room and, if they did, I am sure they could pick out mistakes. It's more of a general impression which that print...

    Sizing an image for printing

I feel like going to the pub after that lesson in Archimedes! I think what you are saying is that the original is too small? OK, this is what I have - more or less following you: 240 resolution, 18" high by 28" wide, 'Constraint Proportions' ticked, 'Resampling' ticked. On screen it...

    Sizing an image for printing

Hello Tom Mann I presume Mr Tom is a different person! OK, I will uncheck resampling - I probably need to read up on that. Yes, it's a shop in the UK call Max Spielman - a photo retail chain. They have said bring the image in to the shop on a Flash drive. Thanks for your post. Steve

    Sizing an image for printing

It says: Document Size: Width: 11.111 inches Height: 14.264 inches Resolution: 72 Pixel Dimensions: Width: 800 Height: 1027 I am referring here to the original image. The image I am working on now, which I have changed the resolution of to 300, has this: Document Size: Width: 28...

    Sizing an image for printing

Hello Mr Tom Thanks again for your reply. No, the resampling was already checked and I have just left it the way it was. Oh, OK, so I can have a resolution of 300. The quality doesn't have to be spectacular but acceptable. It's for a poster to go in someone's dining-room, the only print...

    Sizing an image for printing

Hello I am to get a one-off photo printed commercially to fit a 20" x 30" frame, so if I allow for a 1" white border all round - between the photo paper and the frame - that would mean a total image size of 18" x 28". From what I have read, print resolution should be about 350 px/inch. Yet...

Moving an 'object' in an image?

Moving an 'object' in an image?

Hello Mr Tom I can follow the steps you have kindly proposed only so far. I get here: Turn OFF this new layer's visibility (I click the eye). Then I duplicate this same layer? That also has it's visibility turned off. Or do you mean the duplicate background layer in your step 3? Thanks

Moving an 'object' in an image?

Hello I am considering using CSS to overlay an image with some short but large text to the right of the crow in this image, but first I would need to move the crow to the left (about 2-3" from the left of the image). Would I achieve that using cropping? Thanks.

    'Not Responding'

Yes, Tom, I get a: Congratulations, your computer has the latest Flash Player installed from the Adobe site. I am using IE10, but sometimes Safari (on Windows). I might try uninstalling PS and reinstalling it, but I have done that before and it didn't make a difference. I'll post back...

    'Not Responding'

Hello Tom - many thanks for your reply.I tried the Control + Alt + Shift and was asked if I wanted to delete the Presets and I said Yes, but it hasn't made any difference - please see link (I put links because I can never seem to attach files on this forum via IE). You can see it is trying to...

    'Not Responding'

Hello I am experiencing a problem loading Photoshop. When it is loading up it goes through 'reading presets', etc and then 'Reading Text Global Resources...Done' and then stops. I then get the Windows blue circle going round and round as if it is still trying to open Photoshop but that never...

    White to transparent background

Hello What is the best way, please, of changing the white background to transparent in this image (one which Google offers free to Webmasters) without it affecting the white in the 'g+'. Many thanks. Bluie

    Positioning images with padding

That's precisely what I mean! Thank you. I can't see it under 'Window' in my version, so I am visiting the Adobe site right now: Photoshop CC (2014), I think. Thank you again.

    Positioning images with padding

Hello Mr Tom Thanks for your reply Yes, I mean applying the principle of padding, that is, a space between or around the image. Precisely because it can't be done in CSS, would I need to, for example, have a 240px wide image on a 242px wide background (to allow for a 1px 'pad' on either side).

    Positioning images with padding

Hello I have a blank image 960px wide x 290px high. Inside that blank image, I need to position four smaller images, horizontally aligned, as follows: Extreme left image = 238px wide with right-padding only Second left image = 239px wide with right and left padding of 1px Second right image...

    Images and text question

With this: @font-face { font-family: JennaSue; src: url('JennaSue.ttf'); } h1{ font-family: JennaSue, Arial, Serif; } I can't see it in my own browser (IE11) now. I will play around with it in a couple of browsers - I also have Safari on Windows and Chrome - and see what happens!
