UH OH!@ My type won't show!

One other thing I was going to add, is besides the Reset Character function, there is also the Reset Tool function. You can reset the type tool. Click on the drop-down arrow next to the T icon at the left edge of the options bar, then select Reset Tool.

    .txt file for text

The only thing I know in Photoshop that deals with changing the .txt field is to make your own document presets, as illustrated in this article: http://www.creativepro.com/story/feature/19113.html But like I said above, you are actually creating more work for yourself than is necessary...

    comments and some help

Mike, I hope you don't mind that I did this, but I thought maybe throwing up a graphic like the one I did below might give you some ideas what I was talking about in my other post above. I know this is sort of corny, but this gives you an idea what I was saying .... take your name and...

    .txt file for text

I'm sorry, Bobby. I just don't understand what it is you are trying to do. It sounds like you're trying to create more work for yourself than is necessary. Could you maybe give us a few screenshots of what it is you're talking about?

    .txt file for text

I'm not sure I understand your question, Bob. If I want to change the text I usually just double-click on the Text layer and type something new, or if I want different words for each button I just write something different on each Text layer.

    Font Question...

Hi Syd, Here's a couple more font links for you to check out: http://www.fontfreak.com/ http://www.fontfile.com/ http://www.abstractfonts.com/ (my personal favorite) As for pop-ups, you can get a pretty good pop-up blocker when you download and install the free Google Toolbar...

UH OH!@ My type won't show!

I noticed you mentioned, "This has just started since yesterday evening..." If the problem only recently appeared, think about what may have changed in your system. If you recently installed some new software or hardware, try removing it to see if the problem goes away. When you check File>...

If I may clarify .... what I meant was that he should check out other designs to jump-start his own creative juices. I never implied that he should copy other's work.

    comments and some help

Hello mikey, If this design will be for your own web site then you want it to be as original as possible. I am going to be honest with you, right now it looks plain - the font is unimaginative, and the eyes really look like something you could get off a clipart CD. If you need inspiration...

how to erase the background of a picture

Hi aligator, There are several ways to remove a background in Photoshop. There's the Magic Eraser, Extract, Background Eraser, and Magnetic Lasso, just to name a few. If you could tell us what type of image it is or maybe post a screenshot of it then I could provide you with more info.

Do you Use the single row Marquee tool. What for?

I use the single row and column marquees in a lot of my work, including tutorials. They are quite useful for making things like web page backgrounds, like this one for instance: http://www.dcloud.com/tutorials/grid.htm There are of course many more uses. Just check any search engine, like...

A particular RED EYE removal (Was it yours)?

Hi Prophecy, Here's a short tutorial on using a feathered selection and channels for fixing the red-eye problem: http://www.diamonddigital.com/sub_pages/photoshop/red_eye_removal.html It's the holiday seasons so people are pretty busy right now. That's probably why no one has responded...

    Screen shot question

IrfanView is also a great little app for taking screenshots. You can check it out here: http://www.irfanview.com/ I have used iView for quite a while and it's awesome. It's especially helpful when I'm doing tutorials and have to take a lot of screenshots.

    Question about Adobe PS conference

I learned Photoshop by taking some awesome 6-month long courses offered by www.lvsonline.com For only $25 per class you can't beat it. You learn a lot, and you can even pay an extra five bucks and get a certificate when you finish each class.

    I think I'm lacking the "pen-tool gene"

A lot of talk has been going on here lately about the Pen Tool, so I thought I would post this link, from one of my all-time favorite and informative web sites, Gurus Network: http://www.gurusnetwork.com/tutorials/photoshop/pen1intro.html Might seem a little long but I suggest you read it...

    Healing Brush Smudging

When you release the mouse button, the Healing Brush Tool will modify the image by blending the newly imported portion with its surroundings. Perhaps what is happening is that you are overlapping a portion of the original image on top of the image you are working on.

    Adding File Information

I recently discovered a really neat little feature in Photoshop - File Info. In the past whenever I found a picture or graphic I liked on the Web I would always save it to my computer but then I always forgot later where I found the images. With the File Info feature it lets you enter...

    Got Digimarc?

I don't want to punish anyone, I was merely inquiring about the filter. I actually never paid it any mind until last night when I started messing around with the File Info feature after saving some watercolor pictures I found on the Web. I really have no interest in using the Digimarc filter...
