    Large Format printers

Wow Welles. Thats alot to think about. I want to print with papers as thin as rice papers and as thick as watercolor paper. Just average thickness watercolor paper but that makes me lean toward the 2200 Epson for those options. Do the pigment based inks look different than regular inks? With my...

    Large Format printers

I looked up canon and it looks promising. The 9100 has six individual ink tanks and the 9900 which will be out in May has 8 Chroma plus indivual ink tanks. They don't mention archival. Epson says they use archival pigment based inks guaranteed to 90 years. But I wouldn't use the printer...

    Large Format printers

I am about to buy a large format printer to make high quality art prints. Hope it is okay to talk about these products. I'm trying to decide between the Epson 1280 at $400.00 or the Epson Stylus Ph 2200 at $700.00. I would rather buy the cheaper one but I don't know if it is good enough...

Draw a circle and be able to determine border width..HELP

Josh I agree with you that that is a better way and -- when you use paths you have to decide what you will stroke it with. Like if you use the paintbrush tool you have to set the size and softness - hardness and opacity- but the paths circle shape will give you a perfect circle.Paths are a...

A very New Newbie Needs help with layers

I went to the tutorial Welles suggested and tried to the power tips by linking layers. I linked three layers together and with the active on scaled it, but the other 2 layers would not scale along with it. Same way with the the effects. For some reason these aren't working. What am I missing? }P

    Correcting Mistakes

Nitrobutler! thanks.- Finally I have a clearer understanding of the history brush. Up till now its been a little fuzzy and I didn't quite get it. Don't really get the non-linear history thing - haven't needed it so far. I can't imagine PS without the history pallette. Thanks for bringing...

    How do I rotate

Thanks guys. I'm going to print this one out as it is an important one for me. In finding the center of the circle -- is this a good way: square marquee around the circle touching all 4 sides of it - then with the pen tool draw an x thru it? I know about the guides but unless the circle is in...

Making a submerged in water effect?

Allistair also I think youve set things up very nicely. Sometimes if you don't rush yourself and work on something else for awhile the solutions will come to you. I looked through my sons books on Lord of the Rings and could not find one pic of that scene. Go figure }P Kiwi's water is awesome...

    How do I rotate

How do I rotate these black thorny things around the circle at precise intervals - like the circular markings on a clock. In Illustrator there's a very easy way of doing this but I can't seem to find it inP.S. [innocent]

Making a submerged in water effect?

No wonder you kids today are in a mess. Why don't you listen to Elvis or Hermans Hermits?...........Just kidding, don't go off on me now! I know that scene and that is amazingly haunting . Your figures would have some kind of watery greenish cast to it. You would use masks to fade the face...

    Ghost

Thanks tinker Yours looks more what I want. I have'ent had time to fiddle with it but I like the neon glow idea. I think I might have to use the airbrush tool. I am trying to do this picture of old floosie ghosts haunting a modern gated community. The reason the ghost whores are haunting...

    Vectors

Really nice Dodo. How did you make those brownish horizontal bands? Then did you cut away with a marguee tool next to every horizontal band? Theu look like they go in just a tad (know what I mean) . Like the criss cross and drop shadow. :righton:
