    Monitor specs

    go for the monitor of 22" or 24" cause 23" are just enlarged 22"monitor with the same matrix and resolution. go for DVI capable monitor, of course if you have got DVI capable graphic card. look for LED based monitor, with 2ms response time especially if you like FPS games;-)

    is your working document in cmyk or rgb mode? have you got something like web safe colors or else chosen in your preferences. first things i'll check out. does your client want it printed? do the test prints, it might look different on your screen.

    thanks people. glad you like them. second one was actually chosen for the poster, it is graphically more attractive too, but the first one i like for some kind of warm maternity note in it.

    a few pieces of work i'm allowed to post online;-) made for the promotional poster of the dance studio, edited a bit more than i prefer, but it is meant to be for the purpose of advertising. a friend took the photos, i did the rest. hope you like it.

    i think steve did the best job on this one. i see no problem with colorful background as long as it is blurred am dime so it won't drive attention of the main model, but if you remove it completely it will make it dull and passport alike-kind of photo. main mistake taking this photo apart from...

    nice. when taking photos of the persons with problematic skin (women especially;-)) i always ask them not to use skin powder in order not to have skin tone changed. you probably had it too greenish (due to the powder), and then hit autocolor or something that reduced green tones but drove too...

    i would certainly keep the moles and other face marks, hair color too. you went too far with shadow recovery so the image looks flat, without natural 3D space roundness. highlighted areas are overexposed so the skin looks greasy. you have asked for the comment.

    inphotoshop, there is button Make warped text with couple of predefined styles. coreldraw has got-fit text to path, option to do such kind of thing, with more creative freedom. you may make it square, circle wave... almost any path.

    for the recovery, try to use Get Data's RecovermyFiles, it is not free but if it is a great program. alternatively there is Recuva. very often recovery programs can recover just a pieces of files that makes them unable to be opened, so far i used irfanview armed with it's plugins pack to open...

    hair is very delicate to be edited. it depends of desired style that she wants. you may warp it or copy/paste section of it, or better change the whole hair using one from desired reference photo.

    hit ctrl+j hold shift and drag corners to resize new layer over old one size and position new layer as you wish hit ctrl+e you have exactly same image size with desired region cropped.

    try updating your graphic drivers. check your graphic board compatibility with photoshop. is the image just shown cut out or is it actually cropped when you save your work and exit photoshop?

    it could be just a premade texture that has been cut out using shape of the letters. just a guess.

    Newbie Scratch Disk Question

    120GB is just enough to have it all on it, windows, photoshop instalation etc.. its the best way to get it fast as possible. option with scratching and swap file on ssd is for the disc under 64GB and makes not much improvements.
