    Transparency???

Photoshop always shows a background of some sort, a transparent background is automatically displayed as a checkerboard. The thing is that the checkerboard doesn't actually exist, it's just a place holder. When you start a document set your Background Contents to Transparent, it will come up...

    Gradual blur - How?

??? I think he meant gradual, not Gradient. There are only a couple of ways that I can see you getting the effect you're describing: either cut your foreground out and put it on it's own layer, to avoid it getting blurred. (also, you could try duplicating the layer, blurring it and cutting...

    Help! Gradient text..?

I think you may be over thinking this just a bit, to me that just looks like a soft white brush stroke. If I were doing this, I'd duplicate the text layer, and rasterize it. Select the text using the magic wand and the on a new layer use the pen tool (set to paths) to get a nice line, then...

    How to ?

There are two major obstacles for me while I'm trying to answer this question. First is that I've only ever used Photoshop CS3, I have no idea what PS7 does or does not have. Second, is I can't see the picture: the difficulty and method is going to be dependent on the picture and the picture's...

    hell with u all "PS-guru" :-(

Indeed, it really isn't polite to speak negatively of those to whom you come to for help. The reason why you're having trouble getting an answer is because this forum is essentially dead, If you look back you'll see that I'm the only one who's been answering questions with any regularity as of...

    Tutorial Help Please

You're missing a small step step here, try this instead: Make a new layer, and fill it with the gradient that the tutorial recommends. It will cover the entire image, don't worry. Once you have your gradient, right click on the layer (ctrl+click on a mac) and select "Create Clipping Mask"...

Re: Faded colours problem - URGENT

I hate to say this, but did you try just getting a red background and creating a yellow box on top with a bit of Gaussian blur? It seems to get you pretty darn close: http://i140.photobucket.com/albums/r1/mozartdminor/Untitled-3.jpg that is just two bucket fills and an 8 pt gaussian blur.

Substracting an image from another? (See explaination)

Unfortunately, there is no way to do what you're asking. As far as Photoshop is concerned image2 + image3 is just one flat image.

    How to?

I think that a good bit of what you're seeing in those photos is Camera work, but I'd recommend upping your contrast (image -> adjustments -> Brigthness/Contrast), upping the saturation (image -> adjustments -> hue/Saturation), and use of the blur tool.

Best resolution to use for templates

Oops, didn't see this until I responded in your other thread, but the standard industry resolution for print work is 300 dpi.

The standard resolution for print work is 300 dpi, if that helps at all.

Which file extention to save as

I'm still going over Kim's link, but speaking from personal experience, I've never been disappointed with .png files.

    Using Animation

Hmm... Animations are a bit tricky, I haven't really had occasion to experiment much. See if this is what you want: 1) first you'll need a new document obviously. Settings don't matter. 2) We now need to decide what to animate as requested, we'll just make a flashing square. 3) Since we now...

    simple question I hope

If I remember correctly, the 'M' key is the shortcut for the selection tool (m for Marquee), and 'T' for text.

    Help with color editting.

If I were you, I'd make the eyebrows a selection (or their own layer) with whichever tool you prefer (ie: pen tool, lasso, magnetic lasso, polygonal lasso eraser, elliptical marquee, magic wand). Then just invert the selection to get your eyebrows. For the eyes... I'd say the easiest way I...

    I'm lost in my Photoshop

Once you have your path created, just right click anywhere on the image while you still have the pen tool selected. Stroke path is one of the options on that sub-menu. Good luck, the pen tool is awesome...

    Can't activate CS3

I've never been in a situation like this, but I would definitely say it couldn't hurt. I figure with all the illegal copies of photoshop out there, Adobe has to be used to people having bad or pre-used keys.

    Very Imprtnt

    1) once you cut out the image, you have one of two options depending on what you did. A) if you cut the image out of the background, just make a new file (ctrl+n). The dimensions on the new document will be automatically set to the size of what you have cut.* B) if you cut the background...
