    Photoshop on a TFT

Ah. Gotcha. Yes I run photoshop on an LCD moniter. As long as you are viewing it head on it looks just fine. Although I have heard the florescent lights used to light LCD moniters can cause retinal problems.

    Photoshop on a TFT

Welcome sark. I'm sorry to hear of your health problems. And I'd love to answer your question, but I'm not sure what a TFT is. Maybe you could post a link to information? Or explain for those of us not in the know?

    I think I'm lacking the "pen-tool gene"

I love the pen tool! It really isn't terribly hard to work with, you just have to adjust your thinking. The best advice I can give you is to learn the hotkeys and shortcuts that pertain to the pen tool. It will make your work so much easier. I think Lily's links will get you started, but from...

    Blur Edges

Personally I would whip up a mask to do the work for you. Make a selection of your image and past it into the layermask. Then blur it with Gaussian blur slightly and finish it off with the blur tool. There are a number of ways to do this, and mine is just one. The effect you're after is...

    CS won't install :(

I upgraded from ME to XP when I bought my VAIO. I was hesitant at first, and really didn't like the change. But after a few weeks working with XP and getting used to the differences I'm more than glad that I dropped ME. What can I say, I like the NT core. I don't know if this is true, but I...

Reset Pallates & Size and resolution we work in.

I think what he means is that rather than working with the image at the size that it will be, that he is working at half that size at a higher resolution and then sizing it up when he's finished. Are you working in vectors? If so then It shouldn't matter, but if you're working with raster...

Secrets of the Gods: finding your doc's center coords.

Have any of you ever eaten a 'Chipper'? It's a chocolate covered potato chip. In all my travels, the only place I've found these is in a little store called Widman's in Grand Forks North Dakota. Very yummy.

Secrets of the Gods: finding your doc's center coords.

MB, I think he means jelly = Jello. I think the differenece between jam and jelly is that jam is pretty much unprocessed. You get little bits of seeds and fruit in with the jelly.

Secrets of the Gods: finding your doc's center coords.

Bah at grape jelly! It's gotta be Strawberry. ANd chunky peanut butter. Smooth works will with apple slices, but chunky is the way to go for a sandwich. And why would anyone want nutella and jelly? That would be terrible. Now, plain old nutella sandwiches (read: chocolate sandwiches) are...

    tracing hair

Given the lack of contrast between hair and areas of the background, I think madster did a commendable job in an hour. I think 5 -10 minutes might produce some extraction, but not as well done as madster's. As was said before, it all depends on the amount of time and effort you are willing to...

I need help, to make my new logo. thanks

It looks like your trying to use the pen tool. If that's the case you are using way too many anchor points, which is why you're s looks so jagged and fragmented. I would try installing a font that has an S similar the what you are going for, converting it to a path, and then editing the path to...

Secrets of the Gods: finding your doc's center coords.

I'd like to add that if you use CSS to layout your page, this is a great technique to figure out the pixel coordinates of where you wish to drop your image/text/etc.

Secrets of the Gods: finding your doc's center coords.

Hey, MB? When I set the action for new guides at 50% horizontal and vertical it converted to px so it only works on one size. I'm assuming this isn't they way it works for you?
