    Modifying text

    When I am inserting text into an image, there is a control for BOLD, UNDERLINE, and ITALIC which is always greyed out. I have tried various fonts and setting with no effect. I sometimes need to italicise words. How do I get this to work? Thank you.

    I am using Adobe Elements 11. When I open a text area, a gadget containing a check mark and a slashed cricle appears at the lower right of the text area. It is a real pain as it can cover a large portion of the text area. Can someone please tell me what this is and how I can get rid of it...

    Crop tool screwed up

    I had been trying to get this to work over a week or so. It finally worked this morning. I guess I finally got my toung in the right place. The problem may have been more Win 7 than PS. Now I have to get Views -> Extras to stay off. Many thanks. Charlie

    I have done something to cause the CROP tool to change. When I use it and adjust to the image area I wish to retain and press enter or double click, the entire image disappears. Ctl-lt-Z restores the entire image. Would someone point me in the right direction? Charlie
