    Difference between PS 6 & 7

Welcome, Sark! I agree with everyone who's posted. The thing I like best about 7 is the new brush engine...you can do AMAZING things with it. It approaches Painter in capability (but not quite...Painter specializes in natural media). But again, as everyone has said PS CS has just been...

    blend troubles

Scorpion, you've tried just lowering the opacity of the yellow layer? (You may have to duplicate the yellow layer a couple of times to get the effect you want, play with different opacities)

    Need a gritty look.

Hi, RackToon! If I remember correctly, you do comics, right? Anyway, you might want to check out Mark's grunge tutorial. As there are several layers, filters, etc. there's lots of opportunity to play around and adjust to your needs. So far, your banners look good! As you say they need...

Would you pay a small price to learn?

Mark, I think they all use the same basic model as PayPal, but with more features (and with better reputations). Another one that has a lot of fans; it's the old revecom: http://www.paysystems.com/ BTW, I got this list from my web host in their forum, and weeded it out based on...

Would you pay a small price to learn?

Mark, you might want to check these out; no merchant account required, but they do process credit card payments. There is, of course, a fee for each transaction. http://www.2checkout.com/index.html http://www.worldpay.com/ http://www.propay.com/

Just wanted to say whats up and thanks!!!

Excellent, Thomas! Since it's for your site, are you planning to make some of those shapes buttons, maybe with small images on them?

Would you pay a small price to learn?

Absolutely, I'm in, and eagerly looking forward to this! Lynda.com charges $25 a month; that's steep for this since she has a LOT of tutes to choose from; I assume this would be an ongoing thing, with one or two to start, so you'd have to charge by the tute. However, a "straight" monthly...

What is Photoshop asking me to do?

Wait, it wants you to assign a scratch disk to another hard disk (if you have one). On Windows, particularly, having the scratch disk as the same disk as where PS is installed can indeed decrease performance. To change that: Cntrl-K to bring up Preferences, change the drop-down to "Plug ins...

    Rollovers

naru, for a complex rollover (evidently the images change, or show on rollover) email me the entire IR file and I'll take a look. Either zip or stuff it, please :) Better yet, zip or stuff the file, put it on your web space, and give me the link to download it. A snapshot won't work, because...

    Rollovers

naru, did you do this in ImageReady? If so, check your IR file. It sounds like you have that image turned on in your layer palette, and an on-click state. I'm not real clear, though, on what's happening...do you have an example link you can show?

Just wanted to say whats up and thanks!!!

Very nice, Thomas! Those small images are often more difficult to do than anything else, and still keep the color and contrast. Good job! :righton:

What does your wallpaper look like?

By desktop bg is a neutral grey. On a Mac, you don't get that full-screen grey background when you open Photoshop (or any other app); you can still see your desktop (depending on the size of the image you're working on and its view). So, a wallpaper would be distracting for seeing colors, and...

    Photoshop windows

Lee it sounds like you have a corrupted Preferences file. If you delete it, PS will create a new one, resetting all preferences to the defaults. Here's Adobe's guide to do that, by OS and PS version. Sometimes it works wonders. [/url]
