    Wall Lights Style (Still Tweaking)

Thx guys. I will see what I can do with the outer glow, as that is a good idea. The current BG is just a stock wall, & the shading/lighting was already there, so maybe I would benefit from making a better one. I tend to shy away from using stock as a rule, but for w.i.p. purposes this was ideal.

    Wall Lights Style (Still Tweaking)

I did a Wall Light PS Style (3 Layers) today. Still messing with it, as I'm not completely happy with how it hangs on the wall. I even played with putting neon tubes in it but that didn't work. So, this is how it looks at the moment.

    Font based on my Logo

Awesome, thx. Don't have a spare $79 at the moment, but I actually think I will invest in this one day. For now, I will just export to Ps, and create Custom Shapes or Brushes from them.

    Font based on my Logo

I was looking at the letters I made for my SPWA logo, and wondered how much fun it would be to make the whole alphabet using the same grid spacing as the original 4. I was wrong, it was a bloomin' nightmare... but I finished it all the same. :) If I find someone with a font creation program...

Importing spot colour illustrator file into Photoshop

I wish I could shed some more light on the cause, as I export from Ai to Ps everyday, but have never encountered the issue. Will be interesting to see what the cause is when you do work it out, for future reference.

    Steampunkish Pipes.

Me too. I made 2 of each curved piece, and when I colored the mesh, I did the light streak on alternate sides. I had to decide which one worked best for the position it was in. Light is a funny thing. :)

    Steampunkish Pipes.

Thx Clare. Appreciate the compliment :). I'm just glad to be doing stuff again, and being able to sit straight.

    Steampunkish Pipes.

I have always been a fan of the Steampunk style, and a while ago now, I did a Wallpaper which I said I would try to expand on at some point. I finally got round to trying it. This image isn't going on the wallpaper, but the pipe elements will be. I made all the pieces separately so I can make...

What colours if any do you see?

I see a Yellowy Gold color mixed in with the black & white when it starts to spin.

    UI for RPG App.

Thx, steampunk was the look I was going for :) it is unfinished though, I wanted to add some outer details to the main box. As for the font, it's just a place holder at the mo, Still deciding whether to draw my own.

    UI for RPG App.

I've recently been talking to an App developer here in SA. Although no genre has been decided yet, I have been doing some examples for them. This is part of a Character UI for a grinder RPG.

Poll Do you always use Pen Tool?

I would say for the type of stuff I do, it's the most important tool at my disposal. It was definitely the 1st tool I used over & over until I mastered it. There is a slight difference in usage between PS & Ai, but I find Ai just that little bit easier to use, so tend to draw there & export to Ps.

    Create "shiny" effect on circle

If you create a circle with a flat color of your choice, then on a layer above create another circle slightly smaller than the 1st. On the 2nd layer add a gradient overlay, with the original color on one side & white on the other, then blend as required. Then add a white stroke to that circle...

Illustrator Adding mesh to an irregular shape....

My tip for meshing an irregular shape would be, to always start with a rectangular mesh, then move the points to fit over your original shape. You may need to do this in multiple blocks, but I do think you will find this the easiest way. The main reason is, the mesh tool doesn't like meshing...

Illustrator Advise, tips vectorizing an image

This route will take a lot of practice but definitely worth it. I've spent a good few hrs just playing around with the basics of the Mesh tool, but a fully vector image with that amount of non-linear shading & highlights. That is what I would recommend. Basics of the Mesh Tool Try that...
