    Another PS Thumbnail Action

I made this for a request in the PSG General board. It creates thumbnails from user defined selections of an image. Three aspect ratios: 4:3, 3:4, 1:1 Final sizes: 120x90, 90x120, 100x100 pixels. Easily modified to suit custom sizes. Just needs Save destination re-recorded. Made using...

I need to create a complicated Action, can you help?

Here you go Nick, this should be what you are after. Three aspects to three sizes to three thumbnails. All you need to do is use Transform Selection to grab the areas which you need. Just re-record the destination for the Save and the final file type if you want. Cheers, Al.

Illustrator Export .EPS file to Quark Express

Quark can create its own clipping path based on the background colour, say white in this case. In Quark, select the image box which has the Tiff, JPG placed in it. From the main (Quark) menu, select Item > Modify. Select Clipping from the tabbed palette, then select Non-White Areas. This...

    Using downloaded gradients

You need to Load the gradients Linok. The easiest way is to put them into the Photoshop > Presets > Gradients folder. Give the file a distinct name first. Select the Gradient tool. Click on the Gradient Swatch in the Options Bar. This opens the Gradient editor. There is a small drop...

Pshop 6.0.1 Mac: Halftone Pattern Problem, Please Help!

:D Yup, a plethora of smartie pants are we. :B A couple of points about your original post Jon. (After reading the fine print.) The reason you were getting 'square pixels' is the conversion to Bitmap. You only have black or white pixels so you dont get the apparent soft edges of which...

    anyone recognize this font?

Tanya, the software is called Font Expert. It is available for Mac & PC. I only have v.2 but v.3 is available here: http://www.unleash.com/sd/fontexpert3.asp It is really simple, quick and accurate as long as you have a reasonable selection of characters to scan in. If you often need to...

Pshop 6.0.1 Mac: Halftone Pattern Problem, Please Help!

I might be wrong, but surely if you try silkscreening a halftoned image you will end up with Moire patterns all over the shop??? What is required is a greyscale separation per spot colour. This would then be used to create the exposure area, usually onto film. When this is processed onto...

    Certification...?

I bought the Certification Guide for PS 6 and did the sample test from the CD. Being a smart-ass I scored about 90%. The pass score is something like 75%. Alas, when I enquired about sitting the ACE test PS 7 had been released and the PS 6 test was no longer available. I'd agree with...

    Have you seen my filters?

\:] 1. First thing to check is the location of the filters folder. It should be under: Applications > Photoshop > Plug-ins > Filters. Applications > Photoshop > Plug-ins >Effects. All the standard filters should be located here, about 29 & 47 items respectively with the standard PS...

    Have you seen my filters?

I'm assuming that the filters are greyed out in the menu when you try to access them..... From the main menu, make sure that the Image > Mode > ? is set to RGB. Not Index or Lab. Most filters are only suitable for working in RGB mode. Hope this sorts your problem, and welcome to the...
