    scale

Another method would be to use the mosaic filter
  2. E

    scale

There are a few methods to achieve this. The easiest one is to blow it up in your navigator panel untill it fills your screen and then make a printscreen. Open this in PS and you can make it smaller again.

    Eric - Question about DeepPaint

Like I said, there's a difference between DP3D and 2D. 2D is for free now and afaik it can work as a standalone or as a psplugin. What it does is add some 3D like paintbrushes to PS so that you come closer to painter etc. I didn't install it myself (I have as good as no plugins installed...

    scan bizarrities

Yep. That's the way I do it, but I see/saw (you make me doubt) as a workaround. See, the original can be up to +3000 pixels large. This means that I have to dive down to some 20% or one pixel out of five. I downsample in several steps (bicubic of course) and take care that PS must calculate and...

    scan bizarrities

Yes, it does. It confirms that I do what should be done. I guess I'll have to ask over at Silverfast though as it looks like a problem in their software. My monitor is rather well calibrated, following your instructions in Inside Photoshop. I read those theory chapters over and over again...

    scan bizarrities

This is a serriouss thread. I use an Epson Perfection 2450 screecher er...scanner (never ever I will buy Epson again!!!), an Iiyama Visionmaster Pro454 crt and a Canon i950 printer (6 colours). I use Silverfast as scanner software. I managed to get everything profiled (I did look often at...

    Andromeda and we

Good info indeed. I often visit Hubble's site to download the photographs. About nebula and galaxy: it is an understandable "error" of mine as in my mother tongue we speak of the Andromeda Nebula. Which, in turn, goes back to the old days, when people could see Andromeda as a nebulous, blurry...

    Draw and color like MARVEL

For comics, you normally work in cmyk mode as it is in that mode that your work will be printed. Have your monitor well calibrated! In case it's for your own fun or home print, you can use rgb. For more info on brushes etc, you can either use the help, or do a search. Many tutorials are...

Yup. Let's hope there are enough gas stations on them roads! [slick]

    aged or oldie effects

If you want to add some blotches and specks of dirt, you can try the following: 1/ add a new layer 2/ colours black and white (fore and backgr) 3/ add noise on this layer 4/ GaussianBlur it a bit 5/ Levels: hold down alt then start dragging left and right untill in each case you see...

    Andromeda and we

The Andromeda Nebula seems to be three times bigger than we thought it was. It's diameter seems to be some 220.000 lightyears. The Andromeda Nebula is part of the Milky Way and the closest Nebula to our own. Of which our Sun is not really an important star. It lies some 2.000.000.000...

Run PS from a CD without installing

I agree with Pierre. This said, I have a stripped version of XP on a CD, complete with Nero and lots of tweak tools for recovery. In case something happens to XP on c\, I can run XP from this CD and resque nearly all data. But running an application from a CD??? Just think: you set your...

    "Star Wars III", IMO...

Long time no hear from me in this vault of Alla Din, filled with good ideas and enthusiasm. To the off-topic: Meanwhile I saw it twice, and that's enough. Ian McDiarmid finally got a chance to show his talent as an actor, and he did. Apart from Jarjar, he's the best actor SW ever had. I...

    The Ark of the Covenant?

I deleted my post myself because however much I like to vent my opinion on all religions great or small, it does not balance my desire not to start a discussion here on something not linked to PS. I don't see this as auto-censorism but as a superbly executed fit of desire for peace and justice...

    Revenge of the Sith

I saw the movie. I won't tell the details that you didn't find (yet) on the Internet but I liked it. A lot. Beautiful spacecrafts, landscapes, lots of flashing lightsabres... The dialogues are still the weakest point, but with nitpicking brain on zero (yes, this is *not* an exclusive super...

Adobe buys Macromedia... first evidence of change

I still wish it had been the other way around (I don't like Apple, Microsoft and Adobe: too big, too powerful) but ok...it's like that. My hopes now are that Photoshop will get rid of ImageReady as Fireworks is by far superior, and that it will get the Macromedia style interface. I have...

    WYSIWYG with Color Profiles

truly sorry. I was writing an extensive reply but hit the Ctrl button by mistake. So everything is lost. I'll try again later as I am very busy. short: you don't *see* AdobeRGB on your monitor. What you see is PS trying to give you an idea of what it looks like. This always influences rosy...

    WYSIWYG with Color Profiles

Looks like you are using this just like any other filter. Which is why I wrote that the way you use it is for effects. Nothing wrong with that. There's a difference between what you see on a monitor and what is really available. A clear example is CMY. Your monitor cannot show you Cyan...

    WYSIWYG with Color Profiles

russian roulette, pills, marriage, listening to Marilyn Manson,... [confused] just tell photoshop not to use a profile and you're done. For the web this is perhaps even best. That, or evt sRGB. Use AdobeRGB for print on offset colour presses. And forget the others or see them as effects...

    make her dirty

Bettrer is to use displacement (this will defrom the earth like as if the face comes out of it) but that's a bit more complicated. (it's also Stroker's pet dragon). Eventually we can tackle that later on.
