    GIF trouble

    The only thing I can think of is that an animated gif is a series of images. So somehow there must be a setting that does not allow download of more than one image. It has to do with the Internet -they do play in your operating system- but not with the browser. So my guess is either a virus...

    photoshop error when saving

    that app is called Eclipse RGB. There is a CMYK version also, but that is very pricey. A free version of RGB came with ComputerArts Projects 47 , 2003. You do have to register and get a license. In case you're interested -I don't use it- just send me a pm.

    There is a special app to work with large files...a free copy came with an issue of ComputerArts Magazine...I can look it up... If you have only this layer with outer glow to add, you could use first SaveAs, then flatten your file (or part of the layers) and go on working with the outer glow...

    I never heard that term "rich black" before. What can happen is that you have to take into account the fact that the tiny inkt blobs will splatter a bit and grow, which is why you will lose the open structure of the black. And ditto for yellow, magenta and cyan. You may never go to 100%...
