Unsharp mask, resolution and digital images

I've been taught to leave all the resolution in a picture based on the theory that more information in an image is good. In fact, this is only true for print. Inside Photoshop or anything digital, this is not important at all. For Photoshop (or a webbrowser) a pixel has its place (second row...

3D paranormal, or: remotion's new normal map shader and more

http://download.nvidia.com/developer/NVTextureSuite/NormalMapFilter.8bf I don't know whether it also works on mac. Please: can anyone try this out? It's nothing bizarre or so: the only thing it does is change a rgb image (I use grey rgb) into a coloured image of which the three channels...

3D paranormal, or: remotion's new normal map shader and more

Remotion just released his paranormal shader trio. (29Euro.) Whatdoesitdo? 1/ Normal maps can now be used in C4D8.5 Normal maps are a kind of displacement maps (see coloured displ.maps in Photoshop) that use R,G and B info to displace horizontal, vertical and depth. Creating the map can...

    3D BMW Z4 WIP

Shademaster has a set of presets you might be interested in. I agree: the more I try using lights, the more I admire the electricians who prepared all that cozmick stuff a few days before it was said: "let there be light!" http://www.shademaster.nl/downloads/basiclightingv1.zip

    3D BMW Z4 WIP

Ahaaa...now we know who will be playing James Bond in the next movie! :D Looks very good. Only remark, but that's probably a suestion of lighting also, and a bit of obsession with paints: I get the feeling the car has been repainted. I'd say the effect is as if the paint on it is spread...

    3D Sketchup 3D

Many users have said that Maxon should buy Sktchup and integrate its functionality in the next version of Cinema. I looked at what it can do, but as I can't find the funds to buy it, I won't try the demo. Question of lack of masochism I suppose... Speaking of architecture: Arndt von...

    Getting a florescent color

If you can post it, then you can open it in Photoshop and use the eyedropper tool to see which colour it is. If it's for print, you'll have to use a spotcolour.

decided to remove topic on safety issues off servers etc

Because much delicate and high-level info was given in this topic theKeeper and the Modsquad thought that it would be better to delete it from the server. Thanks for your cooperation and for all the useful info you have given, and I hope you can agree with our decision. :righton:

    3D Some 3d Images

I like 'em a lot. The pot-of-scenery series is something I think might be a great success on postcards or so. "Different" would make a superb poster (nive dof you got there!), the conductor of time is more recognisable abstract, and the sandbox is a very difficult composition. Good to see you...

I have to add some extra metatags to some three hundred pages, so I would appreciate any help. I'll explain more clearly asap. Thanks.

    batch replacing metatags in DWMX?

Is it possible in DWMX to batch change metatags in the header? I was thinking along the lines of replacin the last metatag line of a series by a new series of metatags that begins with the one that is replaced, but there migt be a better way. Any ideas?

    Is there a solution?

OK. Thanks for explaining. Hope theKeeper's explaining helps you out. If not: just give a yell! :righton:

    Is there a solution?

May I ask why you use MSPaint? I just don't understand why, that's all. No flames intended (you know me). Just a simple question.

    Photoshop Elements

I tried Photopaint9 once. It came with my first puter (1999, a Presario) and when I sold it less than a year latr, all CDRom's went with it as those progs belonged to it. Also, it was in Flemsh/Dutch which is a real horrorshow whenit comes to puterspeak. Photopaint was too complex for me...

    Imageready"dupliate Images...

As you mention ImageReady, I assume you slice your imags or create animGIF's My guess is that you create your pages and then slice them up and save them. That way you save everything time and time again as IR creates html references to specific pics and cannot "know" what you did before.

    Photoshop Elements

...which was exactly the question, Elysian. So please, if you know in what ways PS is more powerful that elements, tell JessFox. It is a question that may be asked again, and it would be good for me to know what Elements lacks that Photoshop has. Gidgit is also right: Photoshop 7's brushes...

Illustrator Proposed museum map & art

Like both very much. And, although chances are little that I will ever visit this museum, I can tell you that the naval museum here inEurope always are amongst the most visited. Sense of freedom, wide spaces, adventure...perhaps a bit the Jack Sparrow who lives in all of us?
