    It's all good cutting the cross out until I get to the shaded part. This is where the "can't see 3D" comes in. I'm not sure why because I kind of see which way the lines going but the cutting isn't even coming out close to what the angle looks like to me...

    Pen tool - too much selection

    I did make a new layer of it rather than cutting it then copied and pasted on a new background. Is there another way I can clean up the choppiness around the edges rather than to keep cutting. I'm a bit tired of it at this point...

    Okay guys I think I figured it out... after a whole day. I'm not sure I was clicking on my exact start point before "make selection". I have finally accomplished what I started out to do this morning. Thank you all!!

    When I select object outline with pen tool then click make selection, it selects other pixels on it's own. Please see bottom left. I only outline the outside of the logo and selection makes the rest?? IamSam I tried to send pic via pm but it will only let me attach image via url and not paste...

    Thank you IamSam!! One question, how do I do the gradient to look like yours? I think I also have to cut out parts of my logo that for mine. It doesn't look cool like theirs. maybe I'll just put a cool looking cross or something because it's for a church website.

    I want to put text inside my shadowed image but in the same color. I've attached my logo to put inside the red background. I just don't know if I'm going to be able to pick that up fine detail in the background so may have to think of something else that catches the eye and use my logo...
