Microsoft Windows patch has altered the look of Photoshop

the first thought i'm getting is to check your graphic drivers are up to date, its probably nothing, but its worth checking out

What is your current/dream specialist design subject?

Hey guys! I have a burning question for you all, this can apply to anyone on the forum, new and old, it's mainly a get to know you session, just to get an idea of who's who. -What is your specialist design subject? -Or what specialist subject are you currently working towards? -How did you...

3D For the Love of Bert!!!

I decided that I wanted to make bert the zombie snail in 3d, it's a very quick 10 minute sculpt, nothing fancy, but nevertheless, enjoy! the texture is just an overlay on a render in photoshop, there was really no need to unwrap it. Thanks for looking! as usual critique is welcome! :D Zee

    white color appears grey

when I first started texturing with ambient shadow maps, I had exactly the same problem, its really just a case of setting your layers up into a veritable heirarchy pretty much. what I like to do, is to set an ambient occlusion layer on the bottom, to make the base, then the diffuse colour...

    white color appears grey

its probably your ambient occlusion layer interferng with the diffuse. paint the white above the ambient occlusion layer and see if the same thing happens. if it appears white in top of all of the layers, turn the brightness of your AO layer up. :)

    Changing texture in photoshop

right, okay, I think i'm with you. Photoshop isn't really a program that can change textures in post production via UV pass methods. have you tried using the spotmask trial? http://www.spotmask.com/pricing/ spotmask can allow you to change the texture in a UV pass render fairly easily

    Changing texture in photoshop

images would be great, but from what I garner, you're looking for a UV pass plugin for photoshop, so you can change the diffuse texture on it in photoshop, without rendering the object in modo again. correct me if i'm wrong. would you settle for the model's uv pass being rendered in another...

    How to get this effect?

adding on to tom's post, you could add a subtle grey-dark grey gradient, put that in a new layer on the image set it to soft light or overlay, and reduce its opacity to below 10% it'll give it a bit more mood.

Replace a Wacom Bamboo - What with?

I can safely swear by a huion 1060 pro + it cost me £50 (£15 less than a low end bamboo) and the only real qualm I have is that the cable is too short. other than that its a good, solid, no gimmick tablet, the work area is large, I know you said that wasnt a massive issue, but its handy...

    The future of Photoshop

Well, in the future i'd hope to see a more streamlined integration of external plugins and programs that work using Photoshop, for example, quixel suite. I'd also like to see an external renderer such as marmoset for the 3d features, rather than using an integrated one at the moment. But the...

    Leauge of Legends Sig's

signature images are meant to be small XD yeah, but I agree, they'd probably pass off as desktop backgrounds just as easily. The only thing really bugging me is the kassadin image, it's slightly too dark I think, the subject almost gets lost.

    Steampunk Submarine Prototype

hmm, from a critique point of view, the water effect could use some slight reworking here and there, the rest of the image looks really realistic and could easily pass for a photo of an upcycled model or something. but the water effect, in all honesty and no offence meant AT ALL, looks a little...

    Model Splash Before and After

I like it, it disrupts the natural flow of the image, you need to concentrate on it much more than you normally would. I think perhaps the triangles need to be shuffled a little, but yeah, it works for the most part.

    Chick BeforexAfter

really? this is all you have to respond with after a useful and in depth critique of your work? I'm struggling to see the joke here, really I am. on the basis of the critique, I agree with Tom and Paul, I'm not entirely sure of what you're trying to achieve, and the image has become washed out...
