How do I transplant this character's eye effects to a human eye .

I wanted the green eyes effect with the cat-like iris to be on a human eye :) . And if possible, the green line streaking down his face. I tried playing with hue/saturation for the green.. not too bad. But i couldn't get the cat-like iris thingy =/ Thanks in advance

How do I make a specific area of an image transparent.

Oh thanks for the advice. When you mentioned using one layer for layer styles and the other for other effects, do you mean using the duplicated text layer ? Actullay, I followed the following video tuturial Photoshop CS5 Fire Flame Text Effect HD - YouTube

How do I make a specific area of an image transparent.

Okay I guess I got it to work.. Magic Eraser surprisingly does the job of erasing the black areas well. :)

How do I make a specific area of an image transparent.

After deleting the background layer and using the 'Place' command, the fiery effect is not copied over as well =X . Dunno if the image helps, but this is the PSD file of the deviltext.

How do I make a specific area of an image transparent.

Okay I did my textwork in another PSD file.. Tried duplicating the layer to the original PSD file with the faces.. But the background doesn't match =X. If I delete the background layer of the duplicated text, the 'fire' effect would disappear.

How do I make a specific area of an image transparent.

Okay thanks found it. But it paints white instead of the background colour.. Below is the picture I've been working on. I wanted to blend the rectangular edges of the smiling guy with the background.. :banghead:

How do I brush with the feather option ? Under brush tool, there isn't any feathering option =X . Yup good idea.. I will attach the image after doing it =D

How do I make a specific area of an image transparent.

On another note, is there a way to soften the edges of an image ? Mine looks extremely rectangular at the sides =/. Blur tool, dodge tool doesn't seem to work at all.. no visible effect. My skills are really mediocre.

How do I make a specific area of an image transparent.

There are 2 images in separate layers. I want the a part of the top image to be a little transparent for the 2nd image to show through. I tried playing around with brushes and the flow, but all it does is a streak of white or black  . Thanks alot for any advice

Making a new selection area the same colour tone as a another specified area.

Well, I guess I couldn't really put my message across succinctly in the title.. Guess a picture speaks a thousand words  Notice that there are some purplish areas on the person's jacket. I wanted to make the purplish areas the exact green colour tone as the rest of her jacket...
