    Alistair .. thanks for that suggestion ... it has caused me to think of getting a line drawing off the net .. and yes, it (the Wacom) has the plastic protector that photo's etc can be placed under ... again thanks for the input .. always appreciated :righton:

    ... well, I finally got my new 'toy' (Wacom Graphire3) .... been thinking about it for way too long ... and it 'installed' onto the laptop without any probs and 'tis sooo much simpler than I imagined ... am impressed, very impressed ...... now all I need to do is learn how to draw!! ...

    ronmatt ... re chkdsk/f .... the /f part is a 'task/direction/command/instruction' (.. 'yep, check the disk [chdsk], but while you're doing that fix the problems [/f] " .. :) .... am not sure what the proper 'computer speak' is for it that's why I gave the 4 explanatory words ... anyhow this...

    Alistair .. my 'computer room' has an open wood fire in it (which I use regularly during winter) ... so far (in 5 years) I haven't had a prob ... just lucky I guess :D
