PS addict needs help with seamless camo

The trick is in the Clouds/Difference Clouds. This is Ken Perlin's noise procedural. Because of the algorithm it will tile with powers of 2 (have to get into calc to show how/why this works). For example 512x512 will tile in both directions. As will 256x256. Just have to take a little...

    Image Size: Auto button

The only thing I can think of is that it's used like print preview. You know, make the screen size match print size...?

    Very Bizzarre.... Almost Impossible

Copy Filter > Stylize > Trace Contour Desaturate Set to Multiply Tweak with Curves or Levels Repeat if needed, but use different setting in Trace Contour

    HSB and ChOps ramble

I'm on a rampage over at the Asylum. Here's a cut-n-paste for ya'll. I'm being shorter than usual, so I'll do my best to clarify any confusing Stroker-speak. ******** Too much stuff, so I'm going to leave some loose ends for now. Just don't have the strength right now for some of the...

    Channels

Good ol' fashioned cut-n-paste. I suppose you could use Adjustment Layer > Channel Mixer if your really wanted to. Few other options, but I'm not going to mention them. :P 3[

    Curling...

I can't stand curling. Bad incident when I spent a winter at MTU in the UP. Ugh! Although, there is a comedy movie about curling called Men with Brooms. Heard it's one of the funniest around, but I haven't seen much of it just yet.

    My first public plug: Level3

Long story short, here is the code: %ffp Title:"Level 3" Category:"Tech Slop" Author:"JLHalmich" Copyright:"none" Description:"This filter allows the user " "to adjust the black point, " "white point, and split the grey." Dialog:color=lightgray...

    My first public plug: Level3

Rantin, I'll clean up the code a little bit and e-mail it to you. I'm a bit burned on code right now, so I'm going to take a little bit of time away before I send.

    My first public plug: Level3

If someone on a Mac wants to try to convert the FM code to FF, I'm willing to e-mail it. I know that FM can use FF code, but I can't really say how easy it is to go the other way. Splitting the grey. I crack me up.

    My first public plug: Level3

Still dinking around with junk. Long story short: I was getting tired of doing this the long way and decided to make my own plug to do my grunt work in a way that I like. Filter Meister ahoy. It's primary function is to desaturate using L from Lab. Apparently Photoshop does this a little...

    An amazing photograph

If the kid managed to do 'help me', I would be seriously creeped. The Exorcist was the first thing that popped into my mind. Might have to get my head examined - but I'm not going back on meds!

I could use some help making a corkboard in Photoshop...

For the example given, I would: 1. Layer filled with dark brown. 2. New layer and fill with light brown. 3. Set the lighter layer to Dissolve and reduce opacity. 4. maybe add a layer mask and lightly brush some parts Then perhaps do this: ctrl + a ctrl + shift + c ctrl + v Filter >...

    cropping

Sounds like you have the aspect ratio fixed. Clear the numbers out of the boxes and/or look for suspicious checkboxes in the option bar. Not sure, but I think that there is a button like Clear Front or something like that.

What is Descreen in the scanner software?

I think it has to do with reducing or removing moire pattern. If you scan in a photo from magazine using a high dpi, you should see moire pattern. You know, funny little offset pattern of colours from the printing process. I think that's what it is.

    3D Maxon Cinema 4D R9

I just found out that Mental Ray (3ds Max 6) can do it, too. At least, I'm pretty sure it can because I found some junk about 'Extrusion Direction' and stuff. Unfortunately, I won't be able to sit and play with it until Monday. Actually, Erik, I believe the normal map would be UVW and not...

    3D Maxon Cinema 4D R9

Crap! I almost forgot about this. I'm not sure about the coordinate system, so I just used screen. Because of that, the R and/or G might have to be inverted. If I'm right, the attached map should resemble something like a cloth draped over a ball or something.

Selection Plug-in makes for excellent sharpening (Free!)

I love Adaptive Equalize. One of my favorite freebies. Have you looked at their commercial stuff? Man, I was drooling.

Erik, if I post a SPD map, will you do a test render for me? I really am curious if it is what I think it is.
