    Only one suggestion. On the first one, if you have the two tendrils of smoke coming out of the nose holes on separate layers, I'd modify one or both slightly using the Liquify filter so they weren't identical.

    I'd suggest forgetting about hiding the selection. If you can't see a selection it is too easy to forget. For someone like Mark who wrote the tutorial and is a real expert, turning off the visible indication that he had a selection made sense. For most of us it is just too easy to get lost...

    I suspect that Sheba's 5 refers to a 5 pixel radius. I use a similar High Pass technique but with a different approach. To me, suggesting a 5 radius isn't a universal approach because each image will differ and different resolutions make that figure increasingly doubtful. Here's how I go about...
