    Brush size not always shown

    That is to toggle between standard and precise cursors. When the Caps Lock is on brush size is showen like cross cursor, to go back to standard you need to press Caps Lock again. Check the Photoshop Help file : Search Caps Lock and you will find more info for another tools also. ;)
