    CS3 icons

I made these recently, and I thought that you guys might like them. They are a pleasant change from the boring default icons for CS3. http://wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?skinid=12717&libid=29 Have fun! :)

    Downsizing Image Deterioration

I don't know how Premier handles imported images, but in AE or FCP images are resized nondestructively. So if you just import the images as is and then fit them to the correct title zone, then you can zoom in and out and pan freely, if thats what you intend to use the images for.

why does preset size cropping change resolution?

Great link, ron! That explained resolution much better.

why does preset size cropping change resolution?

That is precisely what the crop tool does, but it has to change the dpi to avoid re-sampling. There are 3 separate ways to control image size in PS: Pixel dimensions, document size, and resolution. However, many people get resolution and pixel dimensions confused. The difference, and how they...

    New "Drawing and Painting" forum.

:} It's been a long time since I've hand drawn anything. I'll have to go dig some stuff up. I can't wait to see what other some member will come up with. Thanks Gaussian! 8))

    glass effect

That neat, Ron! Downloading the plug-in right now. Btw, that is a SWEET illustration. I'd like to see a larger version of that car/vehicle thing. All I do to the HDR image is turn down the exposure and gamma to extract the actual 'light source' of the image, then convert it to 8-bit. If you try...

    glass effect

Here's a technique that I came up with. I used an hdr image and decreased the exposure to separate the light source(s) from the rest of the image and did a bit of distorting with warp transform. I've found that this is one of the best ways to achieve realistic looking reflections. I guess it's...

advanced question - saving out seperate alpha channel and color channel

Are you trying to save the image as a 32-bit .tga? Or, is it in a case where you have to save a flattened psd, and you cant just turn off any layer masks (if that's how you are achieving the transparency gradient)? Anyway, I have an action here that might help. It basically takes a translucent...

    Looking for Filter / Effect

Basically, I used 'selective color' to tweak the hue somewhat to what you came up with in the modified photo. Then, I copied that layer, desaturated it and set to overlay.

    Gif file

Limey, are you having problems opening just that certain gif file, or all gifs you try to open in PS?

How do I make a transparent background?

If you want to save a transparent .gif you need to use the 'save for web' option under file > save for web. Then, just make sure the 'transparent' box is checked.
