    "Painted" Effect

Yeah, no one can help me on that end either. They tell me its all Photoshop. Thanks anyway.

    "Painted" Effect

Hey Sam, I have asked him. He's very tight lipped about his work. I understand your point about the various factors at play. I have, however, isolated most of the variables based on things he has shared with me: camera, lens, light, modifier, backdrop (grey seamless) used. I know his lighting...

    "Painted" Effect

I'm not sure I can explain much better but will try. There's a creamy/milky/cohesive quality to the image that makes it look subtly painted as opposed to the more brittle digital image I posted. And sadly no, there are no unedited versions of the original images available. You can see more of...

    "Painted" Effect

Anyone know how to get the subtle painted effect this photographer is using on his photos: We use the same modifier and a very similar camera system (I'm 5DMKIII and he's D800). I've set up the light every which way at every different intensity so I'm pretty sure this is something happening...

Awesome, would love to hear what he has to say. Not certain on the color balance, just shots in the dark.

    Coloring effect

Trying to crack this grey/green/textured effect that I'm seeing in portraits lately, especially this guys work: http://www.lukefontanaphoto.com/book Honestly any general notes on his use of tweaking the color profile would be welcomed. There are definitely specific things he does depending on...

    Filter

Yeah, yeah, tinting is what I mean. Been through the tutorials, more curious if anyone else thinks there's tinting on these photos or if there's something else is going on.

    Filter

Can anyone begin to quantify what makes the difference between these two sets of photos in terms of post (obviously the second grouping is being lit with a much bigger source). Thanks to the forum I learned that there is some matte effect going on with the tone curve in the latter pair, but it...

    How to get this effect?

Sure, my question stands though. Open to anyone who has thoughts. You can see more of the work at www.davidnoles.com if that's useful

    How to get this effect?

Yeah def agree it's the matte effect, anyone getting the feel there's some color casting going on?

    How to get this effect?

Hello everyone! Anyone have thoughts on how to get this effect? The color feels saturated and rich, even contrasty, but then there's this chalky almost filtered look to the shots. None of the photo folk I know have been able to crack it. Gurus?
