Illustrator Strange action happening using Wacom tablet

Actually i found the answer. yay! http://blogs.adobe.com/adobeillustrator/2009/04/mysteries_of_the_eraser_tool_r.html bottom line, the answer is i have to expand the object or it will adopt the brush settings of the eraser when it's used on the stroke. it makes sense now. Note the photo is...

Illustrator Strange action happening using Wacom tablet

I don't know if this makes a difference or not. In illustrator apparently no brushes are pressure active. you have to create a new brush to be able to do this. So i'm using a custom made brush, but why it changes it when any part is erased just makes no sense to me

Illustrator Strange action happening using Wacom tablet

OK this is strange. i'll try to explain. several years ago I bought a wacom intuos3 6x8 tablet. but when i got it i got frustrated after trying to use it, so i put it in the closet. I've gone through several courses now using Photoshop and Illustrator so i am familiar now, and thought I should...

    Layer picker

That's how I do it now. I was hoping that there was a trick to avoid that :) some designers are extremely good with managing layers in groups, but it can be very tedious trying to find a layer when they aren't named. It's ok that there might be an answer, I was just hoping to pick up a trick.

    Layer picker

I have a question that may sound dumb. I edit template psd's for clients often. One of my main problems is working with un-named layers. when designers just leave layer names empty it's a pain. If you have a layer that's nested in 4 levels of groups it is hard to figure out which layer you're...

    Working with large files

From time to time I purchase templates for clients to build out into sites. The templates from places like Envato are pretty solid. they include PSD files with most elements. I'm having a problem more and more working with files that have a large number of layers. If i move a group that has a...

Here i go again... lines and curve

didn't see the bottm of your post. the little pics are the actual icons. the pic in the post is them put together sort of, and blown up 2x which is what I'll have to do. I don't actually want them small. i need them the same size as the pic posted. I think I isaid that wrong. if they're small...

Here i go again... lines and curve

not pixel perfect, no. i just meant the same shape. there's a crappy drop shodow behind them too so i know it's not going to be pixel pefect. I meant regarding perspective by exact.

Here i go again... lines and curve

yes. if you take the little pics in the zip that's the pieces that make up the big one. I need them with the exact same shape so i can reproduce them cleanly. Ideally they should be the same size as the one with them all together. twice the size of the individual ones in the zip. Doing this for...

Here i go again... lines and curve

I'll explain. been trying to figure the best way to do this, but I keep getting lost. I'm attaching a pic. What I need to do is recreate these items at double size so they'll work with retina. I don't want to just double them, because the originals are awful and should be rebuilt correctly...

    Question about sizeing in Photoshop

yup.. it just dawned on me, I rasterized the shapes. dangit. Ok thank you for one, that's perfect for an explanation, but it bring sup something I've been frustrated about for a while and maybe you can help. I'm a newbie in PS. I can muddle my way through but it's akin to hunt and peck on a...

    Question about sizeing in Photoshop

I'll put something up when I get back to the office. But it's not 'retina' that's causing a problem. it's the sizing required for retina that made me realize Photoshop isn't resizing the way it should.

    Question about sizeing in Photoshop

I'm getting a little frustrated and I'm sure it's my fault :) I'm doing some work on a client site, we upgraded his site to manage retina for mac users. But I'm starting to find something strange. I assumed i could create graphics in either the normal size, or the 200% version. Then just...

    Assistance on curved lines

Hi there, I'm doing some work for a client and i've been tasked to do a help screen. I generated a wireframe to get approval but I have a question. I can't figure out a simple way to make these lines curved corners. I used the line tool, and I suppose I could cheat and use clips from a curved...

    newb picture help.

no problem. Thank you! and thank you for all the examples. I sent my mother to this thread to review the input (she's on the left) and her reaction made me feel a bit dumb. She loved the work, but told me that the reason for the background in the pic is to rememberr my sister. She made those...
