Adobe Photoshop 5.0 Certification Guide (CD Problem)

Hello,
I recently purchased this book (used, but CD never opened) to study in hopes of taking/passing the ACE exam for PS7. However, when I try to run the CD, the "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" error message appears. The Details button explains "invalid page fault in module WINMM.DLL".
Was this a problem with this CD across the board, or just my PC?

Thanks so much for the help, the CD works fine now, and I'm on my way to getting Ceritified :)
One of the links mentioned running the SFC, or System File Checker. I did, then rebooted, and everything works fine now.
This board is priceless.

Some info for those who never heard of Google Groups

Google Groups is a great place to find solutions for problems like these. Just type in a silly error text or code and let Google do the job by searching in millions of newsgroup articles. It's a great addition to the normal search engines. Even silly questions like "Why is my dog staring at the ceiling" are being answered :D (I know, I have a dog like that [confused] )

Google's newsgroup archive is the largest in the world and contains more than 20 (!) years of newsgroup articles.
 
Great tip, Gauss! I've used the Images search, but never the groups...that will hereby be corrected! :D

All kidding aside, G-Man... thanks for pointing that out! :D I did notice that fairly recent new addition to the Google search engine but have never given it a "test drive". Like Julie, will do so from hereonin! ;)

Thank you very much for the offer. I can use all the help I can get [excited] .
So far the only study materials Ive found are in the form of the Adobe Photoshop 5.0 Certification Guide, and ExamAid for PS7.
