Okay, I've downloaded the evaluation copy of CS5. I've got thirty days to work out what I think of it.

Anybody know of a good "what's so great about CS5" demo? Just looking for an overview and new features kind of thing -- from Adobe or anyone else.

Oh, that was cool. Thanks, Steve.

I just discovered rotate by accident. Whoa, that's going to be helpful.

Yes, I've been playing around with it. You definitely need to touch it up by hand, but it's still VERY slick. It would save me a huge amount of time.

Clone stamp has been there from the beginning, but the new version previews what it'll look like before you commit. Freaked me out a little at first...I thought I was cloning all over the place when I didn't want to be.

You know, that's a HUGE beef I have with Adobe, Steve. I believe one of the very most important things you must do if you're going to use a program a lot is memorize all your most important keyboard shortcuts. Once you've really incorporated them, you don't have to think or interrupt your workflow to go to a menu -- you just FLY through stuff instinctively.

Then Photoshop goes and changes a few keyboard shortcuts in each version. Me, I stubbornly go in and remap the keyboard to the way I first learned it (unless it's a really important new control).

Another reminder that people who build programs aren't always people who USE them.

That's the truth. Sadly many of the good programs on the market these day have this same problem.
